I also discovered the two of them independently (who doesn't like whisky and dodgy electronics?). I noticed how similar their accents were and then realised they both lived on the IoM. I asked Clive if he knew Ralfy and that's how I found out they are brothers. There are lots of things that are very similar about them but also lots of things that are amusingly very different.

I'm a techie interloper from Big Clive's site. Started my techie career offshore of Scotland in 1974. Born in US. Worked in the oilfield between Scotland and Norway 'back in the day.' When the plane landed in Aberdeen and I got in the taxi the driver was playing country and western music and I could only understand about every 5th word. I said "uh-huh" mostly to his going on about music and whatever else he was prattling on about. Spent about 8 years working and traveling through that area. You guys are easy to understand compared to the Aberdeenshire blokes. Enjoyed the "brotherly love" you share. My drinking days are few and far between now. Cheers! Enjoy life!

I think that the sambuca drinkers would take issue more than the absinthe drinkers as Sambuca is definitely a star anise based drink instead of a green anise and wormwood base. My favorite single malt is Oban 18 year-old, not sure if that is even on your radar, Ralfy. Thank you both for a very fun and entertaining video. I loved it.

Woo woo is one of the "cocktails" they sell by the jug full at Wetherspoons. Fruit juice, alcopops, and maybe a shot of actual booze, topped up with lemonade. Nice summery way to get drunk, very slowly.

That Desperados stuff is quite popular in Germany (among mostly younger people), and if that is acceptable in this test I do not want to know how the rest tastes. Shocking. My worst liqueur was a German one called "Flimm", poison-green, said to taste of woodruff. Drank it as an ongoing test of courage one night when I was allready drunk. Years ago and a clear indicator why alcohol should be drunk in decent measures. I still get the shivers thinking back.

Ralphy, I was in a grocery store during graduate school buying my week’s worth of whatever subsistence bulk-bin food was on sale, when a very young girl came up behind me in line with the worst bottle of wine I’d seen in ages - maybe a Night Train or MD2020. As I was reflecting on the bad wines I drank at her age and wondering whether I’d ever be able to pay off my student loans, her friend came happily bouncing out of a nearby aisle, holding a wine bottle filled with some kind of lavender-colored liquid. She gleefully exclaimed: “Put that one back - this one is only $1.99!!” :-) So, yes. Bad spirits do exist. I believe the lavender colored wine-water was some kind of “Boone’s Farm Berry” fortified wine. Ah youth.

Lambrini tastes to me - grape juice, antifreeze, soda and asparteme. Made my own tequila beer at one point, homebrew lager and jose cuervo - went down well at a camping pirate party. Dont mind the frozen cocktails either.

Ok. So we all know the sort of alcohol-pops are low quality, youthful, entry tier products designed to get young people used to and acquire a taste for real spirits. What would be interesting to see is not so much a video (this was entertaining and quite funny) of horrible premixed drinks in a bag/can or whatever but actual whiskies you truly believe are of a horribly low quality. The reasoning for this is clearly educational. See what is added to the whiskies, what short cuts are taken, what super massively produced products turn out to be. Stuff that is actually in the categories we love, Scotch, Irish, Bourbon whiskies. Maybe even stuff that is perceived to be recognized as high or mid quality but have it exposed! All interesting stuff. Great video all the same Ralfy, thanks as always!
