Isle of Arran is still my favourite distillery closely followed by Bruichladdich. The 12-year-old cask strength is still the best cask strength that I've owned. Would love to see another review of that one Ralfy!

My favorite as well, but my second is Glenfarclas. I like everything about the Classic Bruichladdich except the age. It's a few years too young and harsh for me. Too bad, because I really dig the bottle and the bottle code that you can enter on their web site to see the details of that particular blend.

I was on Arran in February to visit the Distillery after 15 years since my last tour - still a great tour & welcome with generous dram tastings - can happily recommend the tour and whiskies - then the bad weather cancelled the ferries back, so had to spend three days on the island! Meant another Arran Distillery tour 😀 & also a visit/tour to Lagg - happy days - Arran Whisky ++++ 🥃

Just finishing a dram ( my first ) of this along with Ralfy and I must say had I been served this blind I would never have guessed it as a distillery so new and age so young - by far and away the most impressive 10 year old dram I have had and yes I am getting the 18 year expression also now - thx ralfy ( deserves to be whisky of the year ! )

After being dissatisfied with the last two bottles of Glenfiddich 12 I traveled to another state just to get Glengoyne 10 because of your review. It is a game changer for me. A nice soft malt that's like velvet and honey. Now I see the difference. I struggled with Arran 10 five years ago but Im going to give it another go now that I enjoy Ardbeg 10 and Craigellachie 13.

Great review. The Arran 10 really is great value for money. The NAS wine finishes are some of Scotland's best kept whisky secrets. They ought to put an 8 years age statement on them.

I'm an American that moved to Great Britain this year (yes, it's been wild thanks to COVID) and I've been so happy with the wider selection of excellent scotch available to me here in England compared to my native Virginia. I bought this bottle on Amazon yesterday (it was discounted) and I have to say I agree with every word of your review here. This is, especially for the price I paid, a remarkable glass of whisky. I'm glad this got a high mark because it confirms my opinion that it's a corner. I don't have such a sophisticated palate so even clod-hoppers like me can appreciate it. One thing you didn't mention was the repackaging: a bit jazzy before and now more rustic looking. And what a lovely bottle. I've soaked the labels off and more it's being used for dried flowers. I will soon be buying my third bottle. A reasonable price as well.

Finally manged to pick up a bottle of this and the 14 (little older release, stuff in the green and purple tubes). I don't doubt there are differences between my 10 and this newest one, but decided to follow the review along with tasting the 10 anyway, just out of curiosity and fun. I love arran whisky, it doesnt matter how cheap or expensive a whisky is from there, u can always tell by taste its arran. This 10 used to be £37 in booths supermarket only a few months ago. Now its £32 standard price. I tend to buy arran even over many big names with reduced prices. I can highly recommend the arran whisky tour. When i went a couple of years ago, after the tour i stayed behind and got to try many whiskys even expensive whiskys on the house. What this did was to create a brand image within me and i have bought many bottles since in there core range. On a negative note some people say the old arran 10 bottle tasted better than the new one.

Also i once went to the distillery on Mull, only they didnt want to fit me in saying all tours were full for the day. While this was true and i appreciate health and safety regulations a tour is the best way to sell the whisky not just on that day but in the future. I think they could of done more to squeeze me in as i am an ideal customer for them. No such problems with the whisky tour of Arran. Cant wait to see the new distillery. Its worth noting for the next couple of months its difficult to get a crossing to the island, not sure if this is reduced capacity of the ferry because of covid or people travelling to Scotland for a holiday to avoid quarantine.

I have the previous bottle of Arran 10 year old. I happen to like the labeling on the previous bottle as compared to this newer one, visually that is. Although it had more colors and appealing font style, I dont think the previous label had the braille. That is definitely a nice touch for thinking of the visually impaired when labeling their bottles.

Absolutely beautiful, I even have slight tropical fruits in the nose which is amazing for a 10 year old whisky. Plus I was able to buy this for €27.50 - I'm buying 5 more.

@@thegreatmothra I can get a remarkably affordable one (Robert Burns), the Bothy quarter cask, as well as the Port, Amarone and Sauternes finish options. The Burns is $52 (Canadian dollars), vs. $84-89 for the others. The quarter cask definitely sparked my interest - but at 56% it would be the strongest scotch I've tried.

Got myself a bottle of this for Christmas. I'm not an expert (the opposite in fact); the smell is amazing. The taste needs time to come out -- found the taste opened up more once it was a while in the bottle (and the bottle not full).

Got a gift a year back, the Arran sherry cask finish, was delicious. Need to try some of their age statement malts because if they keep up with their quality and consistency I can see many fans supporting them, myself included.

The sherry cask is really good! I also like their nas the bothy an port cask finish. An with an age statement i do recomend the 12 yo cask strengt. An if you can find it the 14 yo. They dont make it No more sadly! An if you have a little extra coin to spend their 18yo is really epic.

The old bottling of Arran 10 is the highest price/quality ratio malt I've tasted so far. Got a bottle of the new one but haven't opened it yet. Both old and new bottlings go for the equivalent of around 27 euro where I live.

Thanx god, Arran is somehow a very popular whisky in Hungary. It’s fair priced, good quality, so well deserved it’s popularity by the local malt drinkers. Sometimes there are some special bottlingscfor Hungary, usualy Tokaji cask finished.

@@peatlatakia6308 sometimes good, sometimes not. Tokaji Aszú wine is very very sweet, and has it’s own strong flavor. Imho the second fill cask are perfect for finishing or for maturation. Or instead of aszú, they should use a less agressive wine from Tokaj. Now i’m drinking a 23 years old Tobermory, finished in refill Tokaji cask, and it’s just perfect! Wilson and Morgan did it.
