I met stan lost in Alaska with one of his airboats. that guy didn't have anything when he was lost. just the boat. helped him out for a night then my uncle drove him out. He said he would send shirts for helping him.Goofy guy, told me to watch this when I got home.. Vietnam Vet, much respect for that. He was at least a few hundred miles from his hunting party. he was pretty damn lost.

Why do they try to pass this off as real? It's clearly scripted. I think the important part is seeing these two machines in action, but it's super annoying that they're passing this off as if they were actually racing. Dude in the Rally Fighter isn't even wearing a helmet ... I highly doubt his producers would have him racing without proper equipment. Yay for the vehicles. Boo for the presentation.

Wow, this is the first and only Top Gear US that has had the epicness of the UK version. Tanner is an awesome host worthy of the role and this video was truly awesomely American. I just wish they could get rid of the other two guys. Give it all to Tanner. Badass video.

The prop tips were probably near the speed of sound. you can tell when the tips of a prop have exceeded the speed of sound by the sound they make. that distinctive sound a variable speed prop aircraft makes while in a steep dive. That sound that you hear is actually little sonic booms.

Ok, ok, even though this was staged it's a sick ass exhibition. For example, at 1:16 the dude in the air boat "driving" between those signs? Unreal. That whiplash looked incredible. I had no idea an airboat could drive on land like that. As far as the guy in the Rally Fighter actually driving like that with no helmet? Looks real enough to me. For example, at 5:20 you see that piece fall out of its mount? I don't think that was staged lol. That was pure impact. Honestly, all strapped in the racing harness inside a rollcage, even with no helmet, I'd feel MUCH safer than dude going 80mph through swamps and *over land* in the airboat, especially the way he was whipping that thing. All high up in the air, no rollcage, tiny little low backed seat (and no helmet).... and he came close to flipping it at least twice. Next to that, wearing no helmet in the Rally Fighter seems like no big deal.

The Rally Fighter is a superior off-road vehicle. If you were to jump a Raptor the same way you can jump a Rally Fighter, it would destroy the truck and break your spine from the impact. The Raptor is a fancy F-150, the Rally Fighter is a serious off-roader .

Doge Master raptor has a premuim for the demand and with all the goodies its 50k so if your going to keep it stock then go for the rally fighter, but if your going to mod the raptor is a better platform.

I personally would have to go with the Rally Fighter b/c it's so different. It would definitely be a lot easier to get around town in the smaller (but just as capable) Rally Fighter as opposed to the Raptor which is 7 inches wider than the F-150. And for those who don't drive trucks, 7 inches wider means you're most likely gonna be parking in the back of the parking lot instead of trying to squeeze between the Dodge minivan and the Honda Civic. Thats a good comparison question.

Tanner driving gets my attention for sure. The other two bring the show down (Ruttledge especially!). If they had kept Adam Carolla, this might've been as good as the original. On the other hand, neither one of the British three have ever raced professionally (as far as I know), so this at least gives Tanner an advantage. Now leave me alone. I'm trying finish-off this bowl of Frosty Fakes in peace.

Well, they can't have 50-100 cameramen standing by for all the shots and several vehicles preceding/following the contestants (they're supposed to go all out, so you shouldn't be able to follow them). So whether the actual race is a setup or not, they still need to make a shitload of do-overs and reshoot for special shots so they can be edited in and make it as cinematic as it is. Maybe half of the race is extra shots, but it seems like 1 story due to the editing.

US version is coming into it's own. It helps that it has a slightly different format now and doesn't go to the UK features (Power Laps, Star in a Car) as slavishly, although it would be nice to see the Stig from time to time.
