This is the best on-board camera action I have seen on a rally stage. It is very helpful to be able to see his steering and shifting techniques as well as the road. Awesome stuff!

Salvador Findley Funny you say, because as I was typing, 24 hours Le Mans came to mind first also. And yes! Grip and gravel are two animals that cannot be compared unfortunate as that is.. I think firstly we get emotional to say they are the best... (rally drivers). Just a thought. I never hear anyone talk of JGTC..

Yeah he's using a sequential gearbox. What creates this high frequent pitched sound is the natural aspirated engine (no turbo) and the straight cut gears.

alishanmao because it’s a sequential box and not a DCT or DSG, sequential are more of an automated manual, plus when you’re doing tight turns etc and using a lot of lock, it’s overly complicated and difficult to use paddles, be they fixed on the steering wheel or steering column!

@@jayclark4239 Thanks for the details buddy. yes after watching this video when I went to pick my kid I drove in manual mode (my Citroen C5 Aircross has Paddle shifter) and I realized that when you are turning its difficult to use paddle shifters. and watching this rally driver doing tight turns I realized he can't really benefit from paddle shifters.

@@akhil6060 It lists any information on the upcoming road, e. g. corners and their severity (ranging from a slight kink to a hairpin) and various dangers (e. g. jumps, ice or obstacles on the inside of the bend). Its purpose is to warn / remind the driver of their existence.

I watched this without having to take my Dramamine. Wow what a run that was. I understand the sequential transmission however what is the other lever to the right of the shift lever do? My guess is something with locking the rear rand for a drift a little bit maybe? Wow that’s how a rally car should sound

It´s a naturally aspirated flat 6 engine, GT3 Porsche don´t have Turbo engines and never had.

Pace notes. Writing mostly.. Some co-drivers do put in some 'tulip' drawings from there road book to help with junctions and the like though.

Sequential box with shorter ratios. Probably tops out at 130mph. Those ratios are far shorter than the ordinary 996 box, I know I have one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWacnqCeiN-ars0 you can see 190/220kph max
