@@rotracing5744 Nah, it's more like left foot slams the pedal to the floor and brakes bite on full. Typical for people who normally use their left for the clutch, which is pushed until disengagement (bitta resistance too, especially on a race clutch) so the muscle memory says "fucking mash it into the ground". Then once the car starts going bonkers they try to disengage the clutch, as one does when coming to a stop, but their left foot is still on the brake so it really brakes hard and punts you through the windshield.

Who said anything about "need"? I prefer it, especially on cars that don't have a traditional manual.
@stam1ska7 жыл бұрын
>>Who said anything about "need"? Professionals. You MUST brake with right foot in real car. If you drive manual, you move your left foot to clutch pedal only when you need to shift, all the other time it should be in the rest zone. If you drive automatic, your left foot should ALWAYS be in the rest zone, and you press both pedals with your right foot. This is the only right and the safest position for everyday driving. Reason - if extreme situation appears, the rest zone helps you keep your body steady. In a racing car you don't need it because seat belts are strong enough to hold your body absolutely moveless, but in a passenger car it isn't, so using the rest zone is necessary.

She knew that car very well, as she drove it in the WRC world championship as the first woman in the world to use a full spec WRC car to compete in the championship (for M-Sport the works Ford rally team, with Colin as a teammate). Also she was a precision stunt driver! What a brilliant class from one of the all time greats...loved your dad, loved you! RIP Colin.

Aslong as she's only planning on driving automatics that's fine, otherwise it's a terrible thing to get used too as an everyday driver.

R.I.P a legend. Nowadays we have dirt rally 2.0. When I was young I had Colin McRae rally 3 forma PS 2... It was better then dirt ... Obviously noto forma graphic or simulation. But for the animations of the pilot and co durung alla tracks.... It was absolutly perfect and I could saw the passion used to programma the game... Anyway he was and he will stay for ever in the legend... Died in an helicopter accident with his son.... What a tragedy

why isn't he using the clutch to shift
@ewesey9 жыл бұрын
+velizar vasev also what i was thinking? maybe he's just that good at matching revs? something that is possible
@velizarvasev6819 жыл бұрын
+ewesey Yes true but the gears are turning at a different speed from the engine. And the car needs matching speeds on both in order perform a smooth gear change. At those speeds it is impossible to rev match.
@urbanpkrider319 жыл бұрын
+velizar vasev Because these vehicles use sequential gearboxes that often have an ignition cut built into them the clutch never needs to be used in upshifting apart from starting in first gear. When downshifting the dog clutches in the gearbox require a quick blip of the throttle in order to release and mesh with the new gear. You'll notice that he blips the throttle when changing down.

+ewesey its sequential

It's a dogbox, like a bike. No need for the clutch in between gears, though you'll need to blip the throttle when downshifting, like Sam Russel explained.

looks fun. With that transmission the clutch is just there to set off in first
