He's has a great nervous energy about him which makes him very spontaneous it seems on screen and it works very well. Also there is a vulnerable sensitivity about him too and that makes him always watchable. Excellent actor you never tire of seeing.

Oh, God bless! He seems about to burst into tears commenting on the aftermath of SCHINDLER'S LIST (as his mother died during that time) and on "Mary," who cast him in HARRY POTTER and who also died. Yet he's inspired and inspiring when discussing his art and the wonderful directors who impacted him (e.g., Spielberg). Such a dear, gentle, sensitive, gifted man. And so handsome, too.

After seeing him in the English Patient 1000 times I am surprised by how natural he is. He has a kind of awkward charm that tries to blink away that thing that lies beneath. It's very honest. (I must go back and rewatch The Patient. I miss that chap.)

What a fantastic interview. I came upon Ralph Fiennes in Wuthering Heights. It is still one of my favorite films and my preferred rendering. He has an amazing combination of vulnerability, intensity, unpredictability, civility and huge personal and professional depth. He is obviously very intellectual, but we have seen him transform into a raw and primitive state. Both an actor's actor and a director's dream. And heavens above, such a gorgeous man.

And here I thought I was his only FAN. He has great appeal because he is authentic, whether he is acting or being interviewed. We live in a culture which preaches to hide who we are. We embrace roles we believe define us and expect to feel whole and present. Instead, we become convinced we will be found lacking: too old, too fat, too conservative, and so on. We are told we live with freedom, but have accepted the premise we can only survive through vigilant conformity. Actors like Mr. Fiennes inspires us to celebrate the beauty of human imperfection and knowing that’s the point.

I watched Harry Potter but didnt notice him. And then one day i watched Schindlers List. Then i started educate myself about earlier Ralph Fiennes works. My favourite would still be his portrayal as Amon Goeth.

I would say he is well known for many other things. He was an A lister long before Harry Potter. Schindler's List, English Patient, Constant Gardner, ect. He has a huge portfolio of great roles that he gets acclaim and recognition from as far as i'm concerned.

Jittery, fidgety camerawork by operators trying to be artsy but ending up looking like amateurs. Always a pity when such mere technicians intervene, ruining what's simply an interview with a great actor. Lots of jagged lines resulting from a poor transfer too (possibly interlacing problems). Ralph Fiennes deserves so much better!
