That was absolutely brilliant! I was inspired to hear it after watching New Year fireworks from London. It really brought to mind the city, its toughness and its splendour. Thank you. Happy 2025!

Everything that comes from this source is absolutely first class. Wonderful combinations of sound and picture. You have done great job helping an outsider learn to appreciate Vaughan Williams' symphonies.

Never tire of this. The Lento movement in particular so moving in conveying the majesty and grandeur of Edwardian London. Thanks so much.

Was standing at the front of the Albert Hall arena 2 nights ago when this was the main piece of that evening's Prom. What a performance, what a great piece of music. The second part was so moving, what a concert. Thank you RVW for such a wonderful piece of music. Thank you Henry wood for devising the Proms concerts.

May I add an appreciation for the paintings assembled here that add immensly to the music. The amount of work in putting this together is warmly appreciated, believe me.

So glad you like them Alison. I was forced to 'retire' from making my videos when I lost the program I used to make them. But to be honest I think I've made as many as I wanted.

Colin thanks for your good work I have seen all of the RVW videos. Please do one for "This Dim Little Island" a delightfull piece about 10 mins long, the film is available to view but does not show off the music too well but the music is available separately, the piece seems to be based largely on Lazarus

Nice idea Dave but I no longer make these videos. I used Windows Movie Maker, a program which was part of the Windows Vista package. Sadly I no longer have the program. I had to replace my computer and later versions of Windows don't have Movie Maker.

Just searching in Google Images, Noel. It takes time but it's a wonderful resource.

A little bit of John Williams in the 1st movement

Since the composer died in 1958, the correct way to look at this is to see it as one of many passages of great music Williams stole from. But he did so with great style and skill, so he is forgiven.
