The comfort of this wonderful and captivating performance is equal to that of a mother's lullaby, It's full of nostalgia, and emotion From Tokyo where young leaves are fragrant

I simply adore the close of the first movement! It seems to warn us of something lost that we must rediscover! Maybe love of simple ways :)

Bravo! Vaughan Williams wrote magnificently for the oboe and this was played equally as well. This concerto is meant to be performed live - a recording doesn't capture it.

Yes this is a very different interpretation than the equally wonderful playing of the Turku Phil with Takuya Takashima. Here the emphasis is on the work's rhythmic complexity and dynamic drive rather then its lyrical qualities. Mr Klein's superb performance makes you more aware of the wartime context that lies beneath the surface beauty.

Wow, how gorgeous. Lovely. I am a huge fan of this concerto, and this may be my favorite performance of it ever. There was a lovely melding of orchestra and soloist at the end, I thought. Can you tell me anything about the orchestra playing here? They all look very young.

this is a lovely performance. too aggressive? forced? i can't tell. some people need to learn to curb their elitism. it's okay to just enjoy something for what it is. and this is beautiful.

Yikes, too aggressive for my taste!

americanoboist really? Where? Surely not the first movement. Of all the recordings I’ve heard of this piece this is one of the few where the cantabile marked sections really are cantabile. You could also have saved your “yikes” for something that deserves a “yikes”.

You must be quite jealous that you don't have an international career like this man.
