If you undo the shock bottom bolts, drop the rear down a little further, you can pop the coils out, and slide them in.

I watched this just because of the thumb nail. Im such a little kid. No matter what type of truck it is, if i see it hooked up to a trailer i look at it and think to myself, "Man that looks good." The thumbnail you picked out looks bad ass. I towed a 7x14 wedge nose enclosed cargo trailer from Vancouver Island to Saskatchewan and back for a for a move. I loved towing that trailer. I even took a picture of it when i had it parked at a gas station with the mountains in the background. Just looked friggin majestic. Great video by the way!

I would not recommend these 1000HD bags if you live in a cold climate. I have had to replace mine (under warranty) multiple times due to cracking and leaking. Airlift knows about the problem and just continues to send warranty replacements. I'm sick of changing out the in-coil bags and am going with another company. To bad airlift won't allow me to pay the difference for a different style of airbag, they have lost a customer and I will let everyone know of the issues I have had.

I installed a set of these last weekend. I cheated folding them up by using a vacuum pump to collapse the bags. Made that the easiest part of the install.

You think so? I did buy that one used. Coil spring rear axles do suck for towing so I would definitely understand if they did. I just switched back to a leaf spring truck and the towing is so much smoother.
@cwmotorsports44972 жыл бұрын
So you have a different truck now? Would u recommend these?
@buildsomethingstupid17362 жыл бұрын
@@cwmotorsports4497 not sure if you're asking if I recommend the truck or the bags so I'll answer both. The truck was great I just drive around 30k miles per year so it already had a lot of miles and gave me no problems at all. That being said.... without the added airbags the towing on rear coil spring trucks is horrible. Leaf spring trucks are very stable because the springs only move in one direction. Coils can move anywhere and require radius arms and track bars to keep then under control. If you are buying a truck and plan to tow or get loads of mulch or rocks or dirt in the bed. I would not get a rear coil spring truck unless you are going to put airbags on it. Even then they are not as stable as leaf spring trucks. If you're asking about the bags. I 100% recommend them. Any rear coil spring vehicle I purchase in the future will immediately get them. Fast install and made a world of difference

So when you say you had 20lbs in it, was that checked before or after loading? Your psi will drastically increase if it was 20 psi prior to loading.

The pressure will increase under load, but only slightly, just like the truck tires themselves.

My 17 1500 has a leveling kit, I don't tow often but when I do because of the leveling kit it squats hard core. I'm thinking about getting these. In your opinion, would it help keep the truck level even with the leveling kit? Or would it still squat?

I know this is an older video but any issue filling both from one valve? Like the side with the shorter hose getting more air? My old truck had them pre-installed but had a valve on each side to fill up individually
@buildsomethingstupid17362 жыл бұрын
Zero problems, one valve is actually much better than 2 imo as the load carrying capacity is equal between the 2 sides. The air pressure will be equal in each bag. If you ran a separate valve and line for each bag then if you had a leak in one the truck could tilt suddenly.
@WestPalmWoody2 жыл бұрын
@@buildsomethingstupid1736 Actually if you have only one fill valve and 1 bag leaks, both bags will deflate, because there is no check valve.

@dgreco13742 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen this a few times, using the t splitter is actually more dangerous. The air can transfer from bag to bag the safest way to set up the bags is to have separate valves for each bag
@buildsomethingstupid17362 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use the word dangerous lol but I see what you're saying although I disagree entirely. Yes the air could transfer bag to bag but the air pressure and therefore lifting power would still be exactly equal on both sides... additionally if you had a separate loop for each side then if you developed a leak it would be one sided and therefore you lose your bag on one side making the truck actually sit and drive crooked while loaded. That could definitely make some dangerous driving/towing characteristics. At the end of the day your truck is your choice. I will continue to only recommend one valve.
