If you’re looking to tow something big and heavy, like a big caravan, horse float or boat long distances, you’ll appreciate the effortless nature of this Ram 1500, and be happy to pay for the extra fuel it uses compared to a smaller diesel.

My Ram has a 8” lift running 37/13.5/22 tires and wheels . Intake and exhaust. It’s a beast and I get 13mpg. Fill up is about 50.00 US. Love it after having my 2013 Ecoboost F150 modded .

Hmmm... The latest 5th generation Ram has been on sale in the US for about a year now. The one in the video is the outgoing 4th generation. The Australian RHD conversion is officially recognized and supported by FCA correct? Then the latest 5th generation should be available in Australia by now 🤔.

It’s even better with the Ecodiesel, I am towing a 30 ft, 6500 lbs Rv trailer with ease. Fuel economy and low torque are MUCH better than the Hemi.

Im an electrician and i drive the Ute he's towing, it's more than enough and only burns 8L/100km.

@@Mangoclay put a car trailer with a ute on it and see what it gets, then go up a few hills and see how your going. I bet you don't get 8L/100km then.

A PATROL or Landcriuser will use that much fuel towing.

These rams are good at towing but they use way too much fuel and I like a diesel anyway

Too expensive, too thirsty, too big. It would probably be more economical to just buy a light truck. This thing is more of a fashion statement.

I don’t get these huge American trucks that have to be stripped down and rebuilt to be right hand drive for Australia. They are too big for cities, too thirsty, too ugly (personal opinion of course), and we do not need them on our roads. It’s a blessing there are so few on our roads ... normal dual cab utes like Hilux, Amarok, Ford Ranger are plenty big enough for people wanting that sort of vehicle, not these dinasours from the US.

Garry56 just because you don’t need to tow anything, doesn’t mean everyone else needs to ride around on a scooter like you.

Top of the line is $55000usd , similar price to a Bmw 340 in Usa not exactly cheap in the states , the difference is no sales tax on list price un like Australia

I did 190,000 kms in USA in 2 x 1500 Laramie (1 was rear ended & written off). These trucks tow 3.5 t easily and eat up long distances in comfort. They suit regional Australia not Bondi Junction or Newtown. There is also ample room in the cab to stop rear passengers (kids) from killing each other and wife wanting a divorce on the big trips.

@@HenryFamilyTheFirst Yep, big car for a big country. Outside of the capital cities the US trucks would be great.
