Have you considered going to something like a Freightliner M2 106? It has the same engine as the RAM but its beefier, Class 6 with an Allison Transmission. If I had a CDL license, id get one. Im stuck at a 2500 without a CDL.

Getting a larger truck has always been in my mind but that a small upgrade with minimal gain but higher costs if registration insurance and all. I I got something long that size it would have to be a 4x4 for my convince and they are not cheap at all. I really think an upgrade from here would be a full size even if it’s a 10speed or 13speed truck, maybe a t800 or a Pete similar but now is not the right time

I can't believe the trailer is rated for that load without a 3rd axle? I am looking to upgrade from a 306 to the 310 but I want to be able to haul it with my GMC3500HD but I am having a hard time finding a trailer that will carry the load. MY PROBLEM is I live on the WI/MN with 3 scales I can't always avoid. Any suggestions?
@IManOPERATOR2 жыл бұрын
Well you can go with an Fmax312 or the 216 which is my trailer. Get the 40k trailer system. Make sure your wheels and tires are rated for the weight. You’ll be perfectly legal with that trailer to haul 28-32k lbs on the deck. Of course with all your other registration and license stuff

@IManOPERATOR2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. I haven’t scaled this system yet, definitely want to do that soon. However I know I’m honestly not even close to being near my 54k combined weight for registration, if i was to guess with the machine and 3 buckets I’m around the 47-48k combined weight. @IManOPERATOR2 жыл бұрын
Me personally I would say no, unless you live in the flat plains of Oklahoma, fords have no engine/exhaust braking what so every against those kind of weight. Yes you can tow it and you’ll have more than enough power but stoping/holding back the weight I would feel very unsafe doing so. Just my personal opinion, I have an f350 2019 I will never tow this kind of weight with that truck.

@@IManOPERATOR would the 3500 pull the Deere 135 or is that too much machine maybe I should go with the 75g or 85g I would get the cat 310 but they really don’t auction any of the next gens for a reasonable price but Deere on the other hand you can get a low hour machine for a friendly price lol fyi I’m just a noob planning to get into the business

Yes. I have an 2023 F450 HO. Engine brake works just fine. Just make sure you have electric over hydraulic brakes for weight like that. The F450 HO makes 500hp and 1200lbs of torque. I have pulled my 310 and there wasn’t a hill that slowed it down below the speed limit.

13:22 Has DOT ever stopped you with a machine tied down like that? Sharing one chain and having it without slack in between the tiedowns. I have a feeling I would be harassed for that where I am.
@IManOPERATOR2 жыл бұрын
Yes the chain is being shared for two different concentrated points the chain it’s self is not sharing the load both ends are pulling to their own maximum capacity nothing can slide or move just like having two chains however not needed to put two chains on They can’t say anything about it each has their own binder and pulling point
@charlescarrolljr752 жыл бұрын
@@IManOPERATOR I understand what your saying, I was just wondering if any DOT ever saw it. I am under the impression that using one chain for two points of contact the chain needs to have slack in between the points of tension because if one let go then the other will be loose.
@IManOPERATOR2 жыл бұрын
@@charlescarrolljr75 that slack, tension has very little to do with the tie point. If I was to cut the chain crossing over to the other side nothing would become loose
