I wish ram would put air brakes on the. Trucks. I retired from working on big rigs .on my 2021 3500 single rear wheel I installed air bags and put a self leveling value on the middle of the rear axle like the semi's have. So far so good. I’m jealous, wish mine had tow bed. (2018 3500 drw 6.7 Cummins) Couple of questions, 1. Where did you wire in the camera to get the turn signals? 2. Have you ever had an oil pressure sensor go bad, and leak oil? I’ve had 6 total go out, all while towing in 100* temps. Only thing I’ve changed is an oil filter relocation kit. Love your videos
@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 Жыл бұрын
Well thanks!! I had the cameras wired by New Horizons RV when we picked up the 5th wheel so I can't help you much there I'm afraid. And so far I have not had any issues with oil sensors or oil leaks at all. In fact the truck has pretty much been flawless. Thanks for watching and the comment for sure. Have a great weekend.

This is such good stuff! So much overworked stuff going down the road that it's not funny, downright dangerous. 4.88 is a great gear choice, so much less twisting force on the driveline. The Cummins/Aisin combination is the best, period and yes I know that brand "F" has a ten speed auto. 8.3 mpg with a rig this size is outstanding, engine pulling in the "sweet spot".
@daveanddianethrowingcautio57072 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gene. It always amazes me that a conversation pops up and people start talking weights and the number of people that have no idea what any wheel position weighs not along the rear axle weight or gross combined. I guess ignorance is bliss comes into play.

Well I did have a "DODGE" back in my younger years that had a tranny crap out and I swore off "DODGE" and became a Ford guy. BUt when comparing trucks for this rig I found the Aisin upgrade and that has been a good upgrade. We had the Allison in 2 different Class A motorhomes and had no issues.
@1hasbeen5312 жыл бұрын
The Aisin is not weak. It weighs quite a bit more than the Allison 1000 did. Have not seen what the current "Allison branded" GM trans weighs, but probably less than the 1000 did.

Ok Mr Dave I know I’m a little late but I have a question about your auxiliary tank. Did you add it just so you didn’t have to stop to re-fuel as often? All that fuel adds a lot of weight so do you think it’s worth it. I pull a solitude with a ram 3500 and I want to add a tank before I head to Florida this year.
@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 Жыл бұрын
Yup, just for the added fuel range. It is so nice to fuel up and know I don't have to worry about fuel for a lot of miles. Plus I can pick and choose a bit with prices. I personally would not be without it with the setup we have traveling the country like we do.

@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 Жыл бұрын
2 reasons, the last Ford I had which I bought new I felt the fit and trim had gone downhill. BUT for this application the real deciding factor was that after research I felt the Ram Exhaust brake system was superior to Fords and our current 5th wheel is very heavy and we travel a good amount of mountain passes.

I will be honest this is the most overkill insane situation of ever seen. hey ram 3500 is more than capable of doing that job and with all the random technology you have in your truck is so overkill no hotshot guy uses any of that. I’m actually a hotshot guy and I use a 2500 ram and I tow roughly 22,000 pounds with a gooseneck trailer and I have plenty power and plenty breaking and everything is just fine. I also know many people that tow trailer is way bigger like my grandpa toes a 53 foot enclosed trailer with a single rear wheel 3500 and it is way powerful enough to tell that he’s never had any problems and 5500 is so overkill it’s insane
