I am grateful that Raghu Marcus introduces these lectures. It reminds me to patient and kind, and understanding. I prove that I most certainly are not as enlightened as I should be while skipping ahead murmuring shut up already.

How is anything less enlightening than anything else when all you see is what/where you are?
@chuckshankle67823 жыл бұрын
@@bodhi_bear2878 Well i suppose its more of trying to hit a moving target. I can see where and what I am but I can also see where I want to go and how I want to be. I set the bar for myself. By experiencing frustration I am obviously not as enlightened as I want to be...but I am working on it. Does that make sense?
@bodhi_bear28783 жыл бұрын
My question was somewhat rhetorical. One could skip the long intro, calmly accepting that it doesn't have the same vibe as ram dass talks do. If ragu Marcus is someone you feel like listening too, then all power to you, the intros seem like his own way of trying to understand the talk. Other people would rather just hear ram

I do love dass, good soul. Glad he mentioned Campbell - Joe changed many of us in the 80s and taught for decades student by student by student n' far as I know never used siko-delix; least he never said so. But the thing is, with certain sacred medicines, a new MYTH can be born for the self. Great teacher. Dass, with LSD etc SHED his own soul layer by layer till he understood he needed to sculpt a new myth of himself - they share that as men. I do think joseph campbell was enlightened. Just not in the same 'foot at the guru' way JC was. Was just nice to hear dass reference him. Peace, aho.

Great talk. The point about cities being established by the British is not quite correct. There were cities more prosperous than London when the British first came. The British consquest led to loot, desctruction and de-industrialization(no industry in the mechanical sense ofcourse, but still robust enought to compete with Manchester cloth mills eg) of native cities(eg Murshidabad) and establishment of new cities. The culture in such cities had the heartfulness of village life, though maybe not with the same intensity. They were quite different from the crass commercial mindset in new cities.
