As I contemplate the multitudes of heaven from a small corner of the world, the view through my window pane tells of a material order that feels so elaborately mundane. The varieties of form and color in their splendor are relished within the dim rationale of children, but whatever beauty is touched upon in any solitary life is surely eclipsed by the many horrors experienced by countless beings across eons of time. The grandiose tale of human kind seems to be of no consequence, indiscernable against the roaring silence of the cosmos. Sometimes I feel that the rise of sentience, which vanishes as quickly as it appears, is domineered by natural laws so primitive it is almost impossible for it to flourish into something beautiful in the universe. But perhaps my only recourse for appreciating the plethora of existence is the true innocence of imagination. -Joshua Serino
