We have to do the earthly things when we are here on earth. Chop wood and carry water. We signed up for this game so play it well. All the while knowing it’s not totally as it appears and not the final game. Smile at the challenges. Smile and move forward. Pray and meditate. Clear your mind above all else

I can’t tell you the magnitude of the shift when I finally understood this… I went from a devout atheist-materialist angry with the world for its greed and ignorance to havjng a spiritual awakening that left me with no doubts (and no friends)… I could not reconcile these contrasts and opted to get high and stay high. Not a good life. Then I read “ render unto Caesar…” and it just clicked deep in my soul. Life is so much easier now.

I think of my life in two stages: before Ram Dass and after Ram Dass. If it wasn’t for his books and lectures, I’d still think of myself as the ego and body. He helped spark my soul awareness, our true essence. His book “Polish the Mirror” reminds me to notice the dust that can cover our spiritual hearts, meditate, and polish our mirrors so the “beauty of our soul becomes visible.”

I have had some large breakthroughs in the past two days. I have been trying to get high with caffeine and excitement. And it's just not happening. My grounded state is becoming so strong and my mind is getting quieter and quieter. It's a trip. This is what I have wanted but I still have that drive or attachment to get high. I'll always enjoy going fast being a daredevil but the ability to be deeply in that state is much more difficult...I may just be a bit tired also ;)

Totally agree with the idea of the quieter the mind, the trippier life gets. When I was high/drunk, my mind would seem to converse with itself and get caught up in a manic frenzy of sorts. When I am sober, my mind is in conversation with God/ the Universe and the synchronicities are coming more frequently, mainly because my mind is still enough now to notice them.

An old silent pond, A frog jumps into the pond, Splash! Silence again. - Matsuo Basho. It is the most recurrent phrase/poem i can remember. It just makes me take a moment that in between the loudest bursts of life, before there was peace and there it will be soon after. (There are many translations and the one with the lily pad i believe is what i first read and was captivate) What Basho didn’t mention is that life has many, many frogs.

I babble on, you babble on, we all babble on. We must be Bableonians. Therefore the answer must be that we all speak in bubbles separated from each other by membranes of gooey, sticky stuff that makes us seem slow to each other. However, to melt this sticky stuff means we wind up all alone on a mountain in a mist no one can see thru. It's a lonely existence and not to be desired. So we come back and join the babble.

Why do so many teachers talk about a you doing things? Does this little you really control the process? Whatever is in charge where perception is happening here, where a body, sights, sounds and sensations seem to be appearing are is in charge. BTW, in 12 years, there has never appeared an experience of oneness. Did ayahuasca six times. No oneness, a few seconds of a vision of a native man in neon feather headdress, a puma jumping on some prey I couldn’t see in a small clear clearing, and recoiling when the thought came that it was me being pounced on, but weeks before that a profound sorrow at having to be born. Oh, interesting. Does that mean “I” have always been too attached to perceiving oneness? I will have to let that sit a bit. I am 70, retired, got a place to live, necessities. How much more together do I have to be to get back in touch with oneness? If this sense of a separate self were in control, it would have been able to make it happen. I just have to believe-I have no proof-that if it’s not appearing, there is a benevolent reason. Dare I say God’s reason? But not THAT God…

You forget you are the one and only because on an infinitely deep level, you know you enjoy forgetting. It’s what makes life interesting and ascension back into yourself possible. To recognize oneness is to recognize that me, Ram Dass, and everyone “else” in your reality is anything but your own imaginary projection. Your whole life story is imaginary. It’s real, yes, relative to your belief systems, but even those are imaginary. They can change at any time in any given moment. You’re making all of this up. Your parents are your projection, all of your friends and loved ones are your projection and the world and all of its problems are your projection. You reject the idea because clearly “you” didn’t write this comment and “you” aren’t your parents nor would “you” ever create intentional suffering. But you would and you did and will do it all again. There’s no use in knowing this from the vantage point of you being the one and only, because you are such a brilliantly decorated life to live!

I think when teachers refer to 'oneness' they are often talking about the feeling you get when you happen to see a wild animal , you look each other in the eye and for a moment there's a connection, an understanding. ... Another form of 'oneness' might be waking up with a lover, still in a dream state, and not knowing where your body ends and the other's begins. ... And on the extreme end, 'oneness' might be when in deep meditation, or under the influence of a medicine, where you no longer have thoughts related to one's self.. Or rather thoughts images are no longer seen as other but part of you. Just some ideas.

There is a lump of spiritual gold that can be sought in life. The new age movement has the uncanny ability to circle around the very nucleus of it... under over sideways drugs meditation yoga but just seems to miss the boat. "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Don't be an afraid to seek the real truth. Not the comfortable popular saccharine truth. D I bet Dass really knows the truth now.

The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: Ram Dass had it all figured out! And he is a perfect example of why GOD-given FREEDOM must be allowed to reign if Truth is to be found. I was a child of the seventies, but a late-bloomer. And I didn't know about Ram Dass until recent years (due to U-know-who tube). And after being given the full education of a prophet of GOD, I know that he had it all, with the exception of the best-kept secret in this entire world of limitation, which is: THE REASON WHY WE ARE EXPERIENCING IT. But once you learn this secret, it becomes even more clear that Ram Dass was absolutely correct. Alan Watts also, but Ram Dass was more focused on the important points and was best at getting those ideas across, in my opinion. And in my work I show how Yeshua One with Christ taught the same exact things, but is almost totally misunderstood and misrepresented by organized Christianity. All mysteries have been unveiled and published in these "end times": the end of the old Cycle of Time that the New Cycle may be born. And if you seek you will find...

They will also chsnge your wqy of seeing things, they change values etc. But all in good direction even there is usually internal pain you need to face and see your own shadow sides and them the real work is to change yourself slowly to right direction in everyday life.
