I hope you see this Motonosity; I learnt driving my motorcycle from you, starting from your first channel, from basic tutorials, to your vlogs, looking at your behaviour with the bike, how calm you are and things like that. I live in Europe, and I have my driver license, but to be hones I was NOT prepared to ride the bike in a big city or so. I got the NSR125, and for a person with such a little skill such as myself, it was too much. It is winter now, and we have pretty good temperatures, above 0*C so I can ride for an hour to train my skills... and just from watching you, I feel like I am not a danger anymore, and I am more confident. I've had this same stem mount for about...3 years, maybe more, and until I watched this video I had installed my stem mount completely wrong. I fixed it like yours is and now it works perfectly. So thanks for this video

Nice! Not reading All the comments but will make the suggestion anyways. If you want some Extra security for your phone. Just put some industrial strength velcro on the mounting point on the back of the phone. Few bucks at Lowes, Home Depot, etc

Armenian says to glue those four rubber parts. He says they will slowly turn going down the road sliding your phone out. I think you should put a dot of glue in each one.

if you dont use that metal washer at 3:45 you can actually tighten it down more on the bike down and the mount will be more secure.

Great product. I love mine. One tip: the folks at ram recommend pulling the 4 rubber nubs off of the mount and squirting super glue into them and reinstalling. This will prohibit them from vibrating off with your device while riding over rough surfaces.

I went 400 miles, smooth sailing and everything was fine. I gained the confidence in this mount. Then one night, 80mph, big pothole on the interstate and the phone flew away faster than I could blink. Use Your Own Judgment!

I ordered up the same exact Ram Stem Mount kit for my 2014 ZX6R 636 but did not use the X-Grip but the other more solid phone mount with the finger grips you have to assemble. No matter how much I tightened the stem mount bolt in the fork stem, it did not secure tight enough for my liking. It was snug, but still movable by hand that allowed for small shifts in the mount left or right. Drive me crazy. I sent an Email to the seller on Amazon and I was sent a second kit in case there was a defect with the first. The second kit did the same exact thing so I got a refund. What I did do, is Jerry-rig a T-60 Hex bit in the fork stem. It was a tad loose so I used some electric tape around the T-60 Hex Bit to snug it up where once inserted, it would not move at all. It was even more solid than the RAM Stem Mount!! Once I inserted the T-60 Hex Bit into the fork stem, I simply used the Ram 1" Coupling Mount and the assembled phone mount as a set. The 1" Ram Mount was clamped to the upper open end of the T-60 Hex Bit sticking out of the fork stem while the opposite end was attached to the 1" Ram Mount Ball that was assembled to the phone mount. It worked.

One piece my kit had that I didn't see in yours was the flexible rubber piece that you pull vet each corner of your phone to make it much more secure. I think I got a newer model and that was part of the update though. I just bought mine a couple months ago.

hmm any tips to get the nut to catch initially and have it start expanding the rubber? with the mount outside the bike when i tighten the bolt the whole rubber part just spins but doesn't make the rubber get expanded

I suggest getting a tether or rubber band for extra security. Phones have popped off even the best mounts out there's.

I have a Ram Mount also but I got the phone holder with the fingers instead of the X-Mount. Also for the CBR you have to shave down the largest part of the stem plug. I wish they made one that would fit correctly. The stem plug only tightens so much since the plug is to firm.

I got the same set up in the beginning of the summer it worked great at first, on a run up to bear mountain I noticed my phone kept moving in the x mount then the whole thing start to turn so we stopped I tightened everything up it was good till we headed home. I ended up just taking it off. The roads weren't the greatest so I'm sure it wasn't just the ram mount.

Lost my Galaxy Note4 phone and I am very pissed. One pothole is what it took and the phone just flew away. Ram X-Grip is not to be used on motorcycles unless you do not mind loosing it.

I bought one at cycle gear and put it on my DR650, the biggest issue I have is the usb port that will hold up to the riggers of off pavement riding. also have one on my naked sport bike and works awesome.

Is anyone having the problem with your phone wobbling about 10 degrees on each side? Seems like the space opens up with the spring when you hold your phone causing it to wobble.

I have a phone mount for my fork stem but it's not as complicated as this, no cutting or squeezing rubber bits, good review though.

I bought this mount after watching this video and I give it a 3/5 review. It is a great mount no doubt but I took a 10mph fall off of the DRZ and the phone popped right out of the older. If it was not for the price and finding out firsthand that it doesn't secure my Galaxy S5 in the case of a fall I don't know if I can recommend it. It does however keep the phone on nice and snug when hooning and doing offroad type stuff.

I just happened to be referred to your KZbin Channel from Daforbra, who mentioned that you had a Install Video for the new RAM Motorcycle Mount. Thanks for uploading it, as it convinced me that it is a good solution to hold my cellphone or gps. As an added measure of preparedness, I also ordered their Aqua Box to use on longer trips to protect the electronics from the weather. I'll use the X-Mount for my daily rides though as it'll be faster to use!

I tested ram xgrip and stem mount on my GSXR. It does the job but ram xgrip is a poorly designed universal phone holder. It holds the phone in place but the stem mount is bad designed (you have to cut yourself the mounting insert to install it into the stem and it self destroys after the first turn of the nut...), does not lock in place and it touches the aluminum stem with the risk of scrathces. The x grip does its job but looks weak and woobly, the rubber holder looks like it is going to break only if you stare at it... I bought it and returned. Better consider other brands such as SP Connect or Quadlock.

This mount will not work on a 2009-2012 zx6r with the stock steering damper contrary to what Ram Mount said. I found this out the hard way but was able to salvage it.

Daniel Kelly I've been riding with this mount for a while now. It's great. It's sturdy, stable, and can swivel from horizontal to vertical. On the R1 I can't really see putting the mount anywhere else. When your riding it's right beneath the instrument cluster. Also since they make steering dampers that don't have to go on top, I don't see me ever removing the mount.

Looks like the top part of the x grip hits your volume & other button on other side. I have a galaxy 6 phone & dumb thing has two volume buttons on it one right below the other on left side, so it will be hitting one of those for sure. But interested in this gonna buy Genuine roughhouse yes I am a novice & old fart but just want to ride around town for some fun & wind in my face.

You'll love it dude, best phone mount ever…I've had my XGrip for a few months now, had zero problems with it, super secure, as you can see from some of my vids at 120! Might have to try that Fork Stem mounting though, see if I can route it up and behind the gauges to where the phone currently is… Jake TheGardenSnake Those rubber bits slide onto flat metal so don't turn…maybe Armenian has a slightly diff. one? They do however slide up and off if you're not careful.

+1 Love my X-Grip (suction mount kit). I use it on both car and moto along with the Waze navigation app. I've seen riders that use this mount have it placed behind windscreens so as to prevent the phone from getting blown out of the grip. There is a YT clip of a poorly mounted (fairly large) smartphone that flew out of the grip. FYI

That looks pretty easy. I usually just keep mine in my jacket, but wouldn't mind something like this. The only thing that concerns me is the X thing that holds the device. Yours doesn't slip down at all?

It does if you hit a hard enough bump. Specially on motards or sumos. But if you hit a pothole or the like hard enough, it may slip out. I add velcro to the back of the case for a phone.

Been hearing about the ram locks for years and just recently pulled the trigger on one because I wasn't happy with the quad lock. Well......I was surprised at the low quality of the ram mount system. Definitely disappointed as I've seen systems at the local auto parts stores that were better quality. It's funny how there are so many good reviews about this system.
