All the measurements and specs are interesting; however, it all boils down to your gut feeling about a truck. Not to be too biased, but I recently bought a '19 Power Wagon. @@killdizzle I guess, my 19 poweragon has a 1600lb payload rating and seems to be able to do more without a problem. Just yesterday I pulled 7 tons of 1" clear stone in a 14 foot dump trailer and it handled it just fine. You gotta remember that the regular 2500 gassers are rated to pull some 18,000lbs. I feel like Ram is just being conservative with the numbers for warranty purposes. You'd lose a bit of articulation but you can always just run normal 2500 rear springs with spacers.

@@WilliamStewart1 if the only objective is playing in the rocks, most people would choose a smaller vehicle, like a Wrangler, or a RZR. I feel like the point of an off road heavy duty truck, is to have more capacity to take things or people with you on your off pavement adventures. If you don't have the payload to take more people and more stuff, taking such a large vehicle off road seems pointless.
@WilliamStewart1

You can get a Power Wagon new right now with all the needed off road goodies but none of the fluff for $47,225. That is the best deal on a dedicated off roader anywhere. You can get a minivan motored Rubicon Gladiator or Wrangler for a few thousand less, but step up to the Ecodiesel and it's $2000 more. The ZR2 Diesel Colorado is $500 more but smaller and no winch. The AT4 even without the diesel and still lacking front lockers and a winch with the most basic possible options except the off road performance package is $9000 more.

It has more capacity and flexibility, here we make Ram 1500 Classic, and the entire Heavy Duty Ram line from 2500 to 5500, and it is rumored to be the next truck midsize of Ram will be built here in Mexico. I can tell you that there is no intention of taking more production to Michigan, that has already happened, they only obtained the new generation Ram 1500. Do not believe the lies of your president here we work with more quality and it is more profitable for FCA.

"While Americans can’t seem to get enough of the mid-size pickups from Japanese automakers, they absolutely shun their full-size trucks. According to data from WardsIntelligence, the highest market share Toyota has seen with Tundra was 9.1% and that was in 2007. It currently hovers in the 5% range. It’s even worse for Nissan. The best the Titan was able to muster was 3.5% of the market in 2005. Today it’s at 1.5%. With the Detroit Three commanding 94% of full-size pickup sales this year, it might almost make more sense for Toyota and Nissan to share a large truck platform." Autoline

If we're talking some real off-roading, it's the Power Wagon all day for me. Having front and rear lockers on the Power Wagon just makes a massive difference.
