I just purchased this same truck, except carbon black. I have owned two other GMC HD diesel 3500 trucks with both the LML and L5P diesel engines. This new 2020 just blows me away, it is a completely different truck. I got $10K off list price from Dennis Dillion GMC in Boise, ID. They price these trucks to drawn in the out-of-state buyer. I went with the 2500 this time because they are more comfortable to drive. Everyone keeps talking about how big it is, it is bigger but for a HD truck --- it is the right size now. The older GM HD trucks did not look like HD trucks IMO. The new camera systems makes this thing a breeze to drive, turn, park, etc. I drove 85 miles yesterday through mountain passes, driving between 65 and 75MPH on I-84 -- and hit right at 24 mpg. I am excited to pull my trailer to see what mileage I get. This 10 speed transmission is a game changer. It is sooo smooth, you can hear it shift but you cannot feel it shift. I have not had a vehicle with the adaptive cruise control, but it sounds like something I would like. So many features to mention here that this truck has, but the bottom line is it is a very very nice truck all the way around.

@rhowell524 жыл бұрын
Just pulled the Trigger. 10 speed transmission, Technology package, lift and shocks and towing numbers are my reasons. Turns out on a 735 mile trip thru fog, freezing rain and then a snow blizzard the vehicle mileage total was 23.2 miles per gallon or 10.1 liters per 100 km. There were times that I saw 9.5. If diesel were cheaper (or even as gas) for price per litre I'd be laughing but getting that with this truck is amazing. My 2016 1500 Silverado LTZ(5.3) never saw that mileage although I'd expected to see it. And pulling my 29' Jayco it (LTZ) got 7 miles per gallon in the hills of the Wisconsin Dells. This truck is amazing, I couldn't be happier.

Love my AT4! I Have had it about 2 months now and I definitely do not regret it. Pros: Ride quality is phenomenal! Tows great, I don't tow a lot of heavy stuff but do have a tandem trailer that I haul some ATVs around on and going from my wifes Jeep Cherokee to this was a night and day difference. I barely feel the trailer behind me. MPG is very surprising, I have gotten upwards of 24MPG at points Cons: The multi-function tailgate is nice but even with a 6 inch drop it can make contact with the hitch still once you stand on it and put pressure on the step. As the reviewer in the video states, adaptive cruise control would be nice. Like him in the Cherokee we have gotten used to using it when in traffic and it certainly helps make traffic a little less stressful. Interior is nice but RAM and Ford definitely have the better interiors. With that being said, I bought this truck for its capability and the 10-speed Allison. All in all its a great truck! I don't know if there is the perfect truck out there that a truck owner wouldn't change something about but this one is fillling my needs just fine.

The other is also a great truck that is more of slightly better off-roader than the standard 2500 that also has a diesel option. It all comes down to what you really want: Unstoppable offroad beast with a substantial better interior? PW. A offroad-worthy 2500 with good capacity and cameras galore(although that interior for over $70k? Ouch)? GMC. What a time to be a truck buyer.

Just wait until trash gets into all those hinges on that tailgate and see how well it works. The only positive I think on a GM is that they did use an extra injector downstream in the exhaust to burn off the DPF ash instead injecting extra fuel in the engine. Not sure if that is still true.

The marker lights on the top of the fenderwells are my favorite.😂😂😂 Maybe good for pulling tractors and stuff. My tuned 3.5 EcoBoost absolutely humiliates these things on a weekly basis lol. Leave so hard in fwd under boost spinning all four toyo 295/75/18 all terrains it makes their salt life hats spin in circles lol.

I'm new to the world of trucks (just bought mine a year ago) and I just wanna say that it is REALLY hard to do any sort of research about trucks. Any site I look at people say every single manufacturer sucks and their trucks are garbage. I don't know enough about trucks to know who is bullshitting and who is for real so it's really damn confusing. Whenever I think I like a certain truck I go read about it and sure enough "this truck is garbage, don't buy it!" I've seen this about Ram 1500's, Ford Rangers, Tacomas, Tundras, F-150's, you name it. How am I supposed to learn when everyone is so damn biased? I have no idea what trucks/manufacturers to avoid and which are good. It's so frustrating.

Well mine, is two years old and the coating on the grill and on the trim around the fog lights is chipping horribly. Everything else is working well but this coating they used sucked. It’s plain chrome underneath. Clearly the coating does not bond to the chrome for the long term. Wondering what others have done about it?

Main reason to get this truck over the Power Wagon? Diesel. Ram wasn't willing to design a truck that allowed for the diesel intercooler AND a winch up front.
@jamesjava17825 жыл бұрын
After owning the truck for a while he will change his mind. Thank goodness he purchased the Diesel with the Allison transmission. GM doesn’t make a good transmission anymore. You will find that with time the plastic dashboard will crack. The undercarriage will rust. The HVAC system will break down. It not like the older GM trucks. It will become a money pit after the warranty is over. Sell it before then or just lease it. Fords and Toyota trucks quality is getting better as GMC and Chevrolet has been getting worse. I have always liked the GMC and Chevrolet ride better. 😀✌️

Very interesting. For GMC/Chev owners, will you ask why they picked GMC over Chev or vice versa? I thought GMC was the truck line so that was the way to go but lately I'm not sure. Thanks.
@311hitwall4 жыл бұрын
They built on the same lines so really no difference in the major components like engine and transmission.

The problem with the power wagon is the gas mileage on the gas engines. I have a 2016 gmc and get 18mpg . My buddy has the new 2019 power wagon and according to him, he's only getting around 13.5mpg. Has 4k on it. I always thought after 2 or 3 k the engine was broken in and mpg went up a bit.

@james-sz9un5 жыл бұрын
Don Leamon why
@sergeysmelnik5 жыл бұрын
I think many manufacturers break the engines in at the factory a bit. Also from all my reading, many people who broke their engines in slowly and babied them ended up having an oil eating pig. The best way to break a new car or truck in is to do a 50 foot burn out leaving the dealership.

It is saddening to see how manufacturers water down the base models and only include electronic aides with an $80,000 truck. Cameras, screens and sensors are dirt cheap nowadays. These frilly trucks are pure profit. I agree that radar cruise control should come with your new truck if it's meant to replace your home.
