RAM ProMaster Disable Seat Belt Chime

Ah, the seat belt chime. I know you hate it.
2:21 - I discuss a way to use a very strong magnet to disable the chime, don't miss that way. But the seat belt extender is the bog-standard method everyone talks about. I regret not mentioning the magnet trick first.
The seat belt extender is Mopar 5086227AA, available from your dealer or any OEM Mopar Wholesaler.
One of these magnets (they come in a set) would also likely work fine. they come with mounting tape already. Be sure to experiment with the position and find out what works before permanently attaching it to the buckle. This is an affiliate link for which I may recieve a commission.

why dont you cut the wires and put them together where you have the seatbelt connectors instead?

There are reports that it's more complicated than that, and I didn't want to make a permanent change to the safety systems

Nice trick. Who woulda thunk a magnet would do that. Now, how about lighting the speedometer and tach when the headlights aren't on? Is there a trick for that? I don't like headlights for day driving, and then there's the theory of accelerating headlight burnout with having them on when starting the van. Trouble is, I often can't see what my speedo is reading. I've considered installing aviation style eyebrow lights.

Aren't there 2 wires that go to the clasp? Why not just short them?

Apparently, it's not quite that simple from what I read online, so I didn't try that route. I also don't really like doing permanent hardware modifications to safety systems. You can try it and let us know if it works, though!

Did you stick around for the second method with the magnet stuck to the back of the buckle? Everyone else is out there telling their life stories for 10 minutes before getting to the point. I really to try my best to keep these videos succinct. Least you can do is watch three and a half minutes.
