How to free and fix a stuck safety belt buckle

on my Toyota 2013 Prius V5, one of the back seat belt buckle got stuck. Not many videos online explains the detail mechanism of the safety buckle let alone fix them. In today's video, I am gonna disassemble the seat buckle step by step and explain how it works and what could be causing the stuck problem. Buckle up and let's start our journey!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My dog's safety harness got stuck in the front passenger seat buckle, now I can do this repair so my Mom won't have to ride in the back seat!!😁😁😁

You are a wonderful time and wallet saver - thank you!! I have a 2009 Acura MDX and my dog seatbelt was stuck (just like the other person) making that rear seat useless for everyone except the dog. I followed your instructions- and avoided the false lubricant claims on the internet- and voila, I have a functional rear seat again! The hardest part was prying the two casings apart, but I was glad to know that it was possible without ruining the entire buckle.

4-8-22 He spoke of w40 so I tried a can of air then W40 and it clicks in every time now SAVED $300 THANK YOU

Thank you good sir! I'm selling my car and my dog's safety harness seatbelt adapter was stuck inside the lock. Thanks to this video, I was able to get it out and keep the adapter with very minimal damage to the lock itself. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

most of the time, I never really expect a diy video like this to solve my problem, but yours did! Thanks for the simple and informative video. You helped me to fix my locked buckle which had a piece of plastic jammed in there preventing the spring from moving. Good tutorial 5/5 ⭐️

I've got a 2006 Hyundai Tucson that just stopped latching. Now my Wife is driving me nuts about it. You're right, there's not many YT videos showing this issue. Although I didn't want to apply WD-40, I just used electric contact cleaner so it wouldn't get all greasy.... Note: I couldn't get mine working right until I removed the back side. Then removed the ''Red'' Release Button. It seemed to have a lot of dark colored fuzz mixed with dust, so I wiped all that out, gave it a couple blasts of the cleaner and it worked good after that....

Thank you for your perseverance. I watched and was about to do as you did but then I thought I'd try using my new can of WD40 spray silicone grease on a long nozzle, as opposed to the WD40 multi use which isn't a grease. It worked first time without any dismantling. Might not work for everyone but I'm happy.
