I am the proud owner of a 3500 long wheelbase Hightop 3.6 gas Promaster. This thing makes me a fortune and it looks great doing it. It is stone cold reliable too. My roof lights have never in 4 years ever gone out. Last week my driver's side low beam went out. I removed the little access door behind the light module and jiggled and it turned on and that was good enough for me. If it goes out again i will take it apart and clean and tighten the contacts now that you have shown me how to remove the upper and lower body panels without breaking the tabs. Even if you break the tabs, all you have to do is get some superglue and glue them back on. That’s what I did. No big deal. Other videos said they are very easy to break and sure enough they are.

Also have the top cab running lights problem. The one over the driver side is always out but turns back on with a quick tap. Just had the headlight issue for the first time too. Thank you for showing the troubleshoots.

Ive owned several dodges over the years including a 2017 promaster and bulb contact corrosion has been a repetitive problem. I am a mechanic and have learned over the years to ALWAYS use dielectric grease (also sold as bulb grease) whenever relamping. oxidation requires oxygen. Go figure. If the metal surfaces are coated with something, no corrosion. Some folks believe putting a grease on an electrical connection is bad. NOT SO with dielectric grease. I also have a set of miniature files that work great for cleaning the contacts prior to grease. Also white vinegar a mild acid will help clean off corrosion. You can put anything rusty in vinegar for 3-4 days and the rust just slides off. If you have trailer lights Im sure you have encountered poor connections at some point. That connector has 12 volts on each terminal except ground when in use. Rain water on a piece of metal that is energized is bound to corrode. Clean them well and use dielectric grease and no more fussing with bad trailer light connections.

There is a drivers side cowl drain hose under that little white triangle body trim piece over the headlight. It’s close to where your wiper arm attaches. The tube goes down over the front tire. Clean it out with a piece of copper wire or weed eater line. Thanks for sharing this video.

5 years $500 spent on replacing blown low beams at $70/ pair..dodge dealer claims they have never heard of this issue..ya right..first time both went out same time I took it to dealer and $200 later all they did was put in new bulbs..now getting good doing it myself in about 15 min

Hey man were did you hit to get your clearance lights to start working? Love your videos! Hey I noticed you were confused about the drains left and right, the hose on each side gone probably and they are about the diameter of a number 2 pencil, they are located above the triangular shaped upper panel that you removed when you pulled your light housing out.

We had a problem with the passenger side parking light on our Promaster. Turned out to be a rodent issue. We found the harness was chewed and one of the wires was chewed through.

I drive for Amazon and they don't adjust the lights after they fix them so I'm packing tools with me and I'll do it myself.

So I did watch the whole vid; but just to reiterate: you cleaned the contacts and squeezed them closer together? mine are clean but I’m having this problem… so I should squeeze the “top” one closer to the bulb placement?

My friend complained that the contacts get loose and they start to overheat melding the plastic in the process.

I’m dealing with the same headlight, top marker lights AND taillights. It’s a dance and drum circle around the van EVERY TIME I DRIVE. Absolutely infuriating. 2019 2500, for reference.

Use a bit of tissue or paper towel to handle bulbs. If you do touch it, wipe it off with rubbing alcohol before you turn it on.

I use a weed eater wire to keep these two small drains unclogged. If really clogged, blowing air pressure into them solves the problem.

I just change the bulbs only to find rats damaged the power wire on the passenger side headlight. Hopefully someone can fix wiring. I cannot.

It's because the wiring inside them is shit and if you use DRL too much they melt. Housing and all. I had one so bad that the bulb was starting to sag and touch the floor of the housing 👍👍👍. Edit: Got pics of 3 other vans that are doing it too.

You should never touch the bulb with your bare hands, and if you do it's important to wipe it down with alcohol which you failed to explain

If you break the bottom rocker panels when replacing the bulbs, don’t worry about it those pieces super glue real easy back together

Brother, your not supposed to touch the glass part of the bulb at all with your bare hands. The oils on your skin cause the bulb to break cause the heat of the halogen bulb and the oil cause it to break. This is headlights 101 shit bro.

Or just put it under the tire and do repeated burnouts over it. The service department manager at the local stealership told me he has a guy who has the housings replaced every 6 months, Idk if he was completely serious but from my experience I'm inclined to believe.

WD40 will leave an insulating waxy layer. Try dielectric (tuneup) grease. It flows out from under contacts, but still adheres and blocks oxygen and water.
