One is Muslim in the sight of Allah if one believes in Shahada. No diety but Allah Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, is the final prophet & message of Allah Surah Al-Ma’idah Ayat 116 (5:116) … Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. 2:4 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. Allah clearly mentions in the first five verses of Sura Baqarah who are the successful and whom Allah guides and conversely we know we know who are not successful & whom Allah does not guide. Surah Baqarah Ayat 13 (2:13) And when it is said to them (hypocrites): “Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him, Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed,” they say: “Shall we believe as the fools have believed?” Verily, they are the fools, but they know not. Allah clearly in the afore copy pasted verse says about those who reject companions, and commands us to believe like them. Allah knows best
