This Ramadan I am working on reciting Quran and doing my five daily prayers, I can not fast this year as I am trying to get my appetite back because I use to drinking to much and smoking. Ramadan is a life line and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time subhanallah.

BarakAllahu feek ustadh shamsi. What is the ruling on fasting with diabetes? Can I break my fast if my blood sugar is very low? If I do, do I make the fast up or pay the fidya? Can I check my blood sugar level by poking a needle in my finger and thus drawing blood?

Taking small amounts of blood for blood tests or pricks for glucose tests do not break the fast according to Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen. I dont know about your other questions JazakAllah khayr
