I’m Christian and have been fasting during Ramadan for at least the past 10 years. The biggest challenge was working one summer with an organization that delivered tasty breakfasts and lunches to children in need. It was a Muslim organization and it was fun offering encouragement to the one teenager who was fasting for the first time.

Even as a Muslim, it is so eye opening watching Non-Muslims fast during the day because they see the value of fasting, which has sadly been forgotten by so many Muslims. For us, we just go through the motion of fasting, forgetting the reasons why we fast. Thank you Mo and to all the editors who joined us in fasting during Ramadan for opening my eyes to the beauty of fasting which I had forgotten.

I understand how people may find it difficult to fast. But as a Muslim who’s been regularly fast, we actually look forward to Ramadan. Its such a blessing and can only really be experienced yourself. Its also a massive eye opener. When we fast, we know what at sunset, we’ll have a meal ready. However for the poor, they don’t have a luxury of knowing whether they will get to eat or not before sleeping that day. Ramadan allows us to truly understand our blessings we have. Little things thats we don’t take into consideration are the true blessings. However we’re too focused on building more for ourselves.

What I have learned in my experience fasting for the last two weeks, is prioritizing healthy food in small amounts, and taking little breaks in between, especially when you break your fasting. My first Ramadan... I live in Spain, so sun raises early and goes down late. First days were hard. It is more mental than physical. It is not my stomach but my head which was asking for food in the early days. Also I have more energy, getting more things done, going to the gym, etc. Lost 5 kilos so far (super happy), have a clear mind and more productive. Not having morning breakfast too. Had a bad cough for a week and hay fever but keep going. All in all recommend it to everyone!

Absolutely guys… Fasting is the most challenge to train ourself facing all the physical and mental need…not only feel starving and thirsty but its more than that, fasting is the lesson to bent down our ‘nafs’ from ‘hubbuddun’ya’…(too much in seeking what we want in our short term life…) Anyway, happy fasting to all the beginners..😊

This video made me move on so much as a Muslim. You know what? Sometimes us Muslim may even forget how awesome an experience to fast during Ramadan. We get accustomed to it, as we do it every year. But it is actually a miraculous thing. Thank you for reminding it. I really appreciate the effort of the guys in this video. May Allah grant them peace and reward for such a contribution to the community.

Dude, I just laughed my ass off😂😂😂 i remembered my teenager years souhour mistakes trying to overflow my stomach with food. Now just doing it with two dates and a lot of water with 40 or 45C heat. Shout out for the guys how they managed this experience and appreciated the teachings they could get from just one day of fasting. Big up!
