A concern that I have and i've noticed that it's a trend that's growing rapidly is the apropriation of hijab as a fashion accessorie. You see more and more hijabi trying to maximise their appearence and gather as much attention as possible like tight cloathing jewlery, alot of makeup, instagram modeling pages or muslim couples vlogs on social media. Which all of it completly defeats the purpose of the hijab. It goes to the point where whearing the hijab is a sexual preference for non muslim men.

This is a valid observation although first time I am hearing about non Muslims choosing hijabi. As a Western revert and hijabi I can speak from my experience: the moment a woman puts hijab on she becomes sexually invisible to non Muslims. I would say that highly styled hijabi wearing heavy make up and high end clothes is a Muslim type trophy wife - pious in her scarf but you can still show her off because she conforms to the Western aesthetics, she is still pleasing to the masculine eye if a man chooses not to look away but indulge. I am not sure whether you know the comedy show "Citizen Khan" with his two daughters one with hijab but obscenely provocative and one being a disappointment - perfectly modest but no piece of clothing on her head, good laugh it is.

Good points! We muslims overconsume. It's really true and really a shame.Look at the malls ,muslims are over-represented there, either way here in Europe and unfortunately ramadan period is the worst.

This is a very timely topic with the focus on ethical way of living, with increasing awarness of the Muslim community when it comes to the origin of the goods they consume as well as eco aspect. Living in a resposible way towards the environment by reducing plastic during iftars etc. Something Sheikh Abdul Hakim Murad also picked up on during his Ramadan series. I am glad that we take the "islamic way of living" out of simplistic understanding of fiqh as a long list of dos and donts and recognise it as bigger picture. This leads to rethinking what it means to be good and moral as a Muslim. On the topic of modernity and epistemology in the Muslim world I would highly recommend reading Wael Hallaq and his engagement with Taha, very thought provoking.

The solution to this is salah. Instead of waiting on the table one should instead wait in the masjid, pray the maghreb and awwabin, eat dinner, then return to the masjid for isha and tarawih so that the food part is squished between prayer and you don't even have time to indulge. Than you should sleep since you'll qake up for sehr and fajr. Negligence in prayer have these riplle effects...

Most of those videos are edited, which means that even though he takes a bite of it, he actually spits it out and cuts the scene off. It's wasteful.

In Islam the whole world knows when You are ''fasting''. In Christianity our God, JESUS CHRIST ,(Eternal Glory to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords) says to do your fasting in secret and God who sees all will reward You. I believe that we definitely serve a different God. Shalom and may Christ touch the hearts of some who sincerely seek Him as in Him and Him ALONE is Eternal Salvation.

Jesus did not say He is G-D...he was constantly referring and praying to His G-D...are you saying he was praying to himself.... Fellow Christian here...may you find the truth
