Ramana Maharishi’s mother used to sing songs of the great Avudai Akkal of Senkotai. Avudai Akkal , the great Advaita Saint, had influenced Ramana as a child. Pranams to Ramana Maharishi ji and Avudai Akkal! I don’t like the Abrahamic religious word “ Spirit “ for Atma. There’s no English equivalent word for Atma and let us just use it as it is. If one wants to know more about Ramana Maharishi, there’s no other authority than Sri Nochur Venkatraman Ji. I will post the linkscof his talks.

No, he did not write 'he was going to Arunachala'. The short note in Tamil, which he left behind for the family, simply said 'This is going in search of the Father. No money need be spent to find it'. He had heard of Arunachala, the holy hill in Tiruvannamalai, so he made his way there, entered the grand temple whose doors were open and unattended (which is unusual), went into the inner sanctum, embraced the Siva Linga there, and said 'Father, you called me and I have come'. Much later, when became well-known, his family was able to locate him at Arunachala but he had no impulse to return. He never left Arunachala again throughout his physical life. Please read or listen to the YT talks by David Godman. He wrote extensively about Maharshi Ramana, his teachings, his life and his followers.

@J P Yes, we should try to be as accurate as possible about a saint as great as Ramana. Every detail matters. Every single detail. But more so about his words, leelas and teachings. Other details may be of lesser importance. Ramana, for example, wouldn't care about Time and Place -specific details.

The entire universe is manifested Brahman. It is the physical body of Brahman. It is manifested Brahman. Brahman doesn't mean God. God is a very narrow meaning as per Bible. Each and every atom including all living beings are nothing but Absolute Brahman. There is nothing other than Brahman. Even the universe around us which looks so real is a Myth/ False like our dreams are not real. “What is Brahman” and “What is our Ego I” or “Who am I” are the ultimate aim of our human life. All the Gurus must concentrate on this, if they are really Gurus or yogis or Swami.

"......incorrect Fact: He went to the Arunachaleswara Temple and entered the sanctum sanctorum 10:00 to 12:45 to all throughout.... lots of inaccuracies every now and then .... about His stays, who found Him in the temple....life long stay in Virupaksha (incorrectly mentioned as Virpuksha by Lakhani) ...first European to find him Paul Brunton....a man came to challenge Him and debate with Him....he said "you win. Go away" ....another mention of a Mahant(?) visiting Him issues about who should sit at a higher level....cancer on His left shoulder.....temple then being given to His brother.... all inaccuracies Facts: just a few: The first European to meet Him was F.H. Humphreys, a British Police officer, He stayed in Virupaksha until 1916, then moved to Skandha Ashrama (a cave) and then came down the Arunachala Hill after His mother's death in 1922 at Skandha Ashrama. There was no temple that He bulit to be given to His brother. The whole video appears to have been put together after a casual read about His life. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
