Be still and know that i am god Agitation of mind is the cause of desire. The sense of doership. And personality. If that is stopped, there is quiet. There knowing means being. It is not the relative knowledge involving the triads. Knowledge, knowing and known. I am that i am. I am is god. Not thinking, i am god. Realize, i am. And do not think, i am. Know, i am god it is said, and not think i am god. All talk of surrender is like pinching brown sugar from a brown sugar image of a lord ganesha and offering it as food offering to the same lord ganesha. You say you offer your body, soul and all possessions to god. Were they yours that you could offer them? At best, you can only say, i falsely imagined till now, that all these , which are yours, were mine. Now i realize that they're yours. I shall no more act as if they are mine. This knowledge, that there is nothing but god or self, that I and mine, don't exist and that only the self exists is jnana. Thus, there is no difference between bhakti and jnana. Bhakti is jnana (mata?) or the mother of jnana. If you have surrendered, you must be able to abide by the will of god. And not make a grievance of what may not please you. Things may turn out differently from the way they look apparently. Distress often leads people to faith in god. You must only trust god. surrender to him. And abide by his will, whether he appears or vanishes. Await his pleasure. If you ask him to do as you please, it is not surrender but command to him. You cannot have him obey you and yet think that you have surrendered. He knows what is best, and when and how to do it. Leave everything entirely to him. He (eases?) the burden. You have no longer any cares. All your cares are his. It is the higher power which does everything. Such is the heart of all religions 🌞💗💫 Gratitude

Hey, I wanted to thank you for this post. It outlines my complete dissolving into God. It really helped me to finger point what I've been doing and it has helped me immensely. I've been on the path for more than a decade but a couple years back I was lying in bed and I gave everything in this life to God. I told it that all is yours I am your servant. A voice spoke up in my head, a clear beautiful female voice: "well, it sounds like you're ready. " Then she sang " baby how, BABY HOW, BAABBYy HOOWW? Gotcha!" And didn't say anything after that. But I believe a blue light illuminated in my third eye. I asked what I was ready for but never got an answer.

To the question, what you are ready for : To know, Experience who you truly ARE(already). Ask yourself, who I Truly am? (what's my origin, Source, where did I come from? Who am I? besides the name Seane, the age, the gender, etc, Peel off the layers. You will discover your True Self. Only the Supreme Reality exists. Call it the Self, Source, God, I AM, There's nothing outside of It. "You" are already it. That inner I AM beingness you feel right now (Atman) is Exactly The Same being as the real Self who you Truly are (Brahman). As above (Brahman) so below ( Atman). = 🌞🌈

"It means giving up all thoughts and concentrating the mind on Him". I'm curious in practical terms what that means. Do we create a visual image of God and focus on that? Do we imagine what God feels like and concentrate on that? Do we imaging the characteristics of God and focus on that?

Hello! My humble opinion is that we rest the mind in the 'heart', the centre of your being, the 'I am' state. When we rest the mind in the heart, all thoughts vanish. The heart is pure awareness, the answer to the question 'Who am I?', but not in words, it is the full presence that seems to answer the question. The 'I am' state is the centre of your being, that centre is God. It is who you are when there are no thoughts, only pure knowing, in that state you are one with what is, oneness, that is surrender. You surrender your Ego to the source of your being and let the mind rest there. When you rest the mind in the heart, and the mind goes quiet, you experience oneness, as a result it is easier to realise that you are God and so it is everything around you, there is no separation. In that state you can 'concentrate your mind on Him', inside or outside make no sense anymore, there is only oneness so you can concentrate on the oneness. From that centre you can experience full presence and the stillness Ramana talks about comes out naturally. PS: If you try to create a visual image of God, you are using the mind to create an object of meditation (Subject + Object), that in itself is a dualistic practice which brings you out of Oneness. I hope this helps you somehow! it is hard to put into words that which is in itself ineffable :D
