1968 Pontiac GTO 461 Stroker - Testing Barry Grant Double-Pumper Carb

Our friend, Craig, gave Jordan a Barry Grant "Silver Claw" double-pumper carb or his GTO. We didn't think the Quick Fuel 750 was doing a very good job feeding the new 461 stroker. It really responded well to the carb change. In the days after the swap, Jordan fixed another issue with the fuel system and did some more fine tuning. It's running absolutely great right now. He just finished fully setting up his nitrous system as well, so you can expect some new videos of that in the days ahead too. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!

Yeah, for whatever reason, we've always stayed with vacuum secondary carbs. We've always known that the double-pumpers were better for all out speed, but the VS carbs are real forgiving to use.

The day after we shot this video, Jordan found a piece of rubber clogging one of the fittings on his fuel system. So, it probably wasn't running at it's full potential that day. What intake are you running? What heads ? What cam?

I'm running Butler Performance built and ported Edelbrock D-port aluminum heads that flow around 310 cfm, a Comp XE284H cam w/1.65 rockers, and an Edelbrock Torker II intake. @@mrman4437 That was part of the reason I used the Torker II, but also it outperforms most other manifolds as long as you add an open spacer. It needs the extra plenum volume from the spacer.

It's a Hurst Outlaw shifter. I liked the look of it mostly. I don't like that you have to squeeze the lever to go into third, it's a little annoying. It is well-made though.
