Dumfries is a lovely town as is the rest of the county. That part of Scotland is well worth exploring and also neighbouring Galloway. We've had a few holidays there and the sights connected with Burns are very interesting and must do's. Burns life is well worth reading about, you realise why he's still respected all over the world. A good video.

Full view and like #38 from me! Sorry for the late reply, Rambling Rose and Sir Lancelot -- I'm struggling to keep atop so many comments! Hehe, loving the music. ;) Hmmm, I didn't know that love was spelled "luve" once upon a time.... That 1793 house at 2:20... so interesting how they managed to fit all those small stones together. Those are some crazy stairs at 3:40. I've never heard of a cribbage bed. Looks very old-world indeed! Yes, that Burns shrine is _very_ majestic! Thing must have cost a fortune! I must confess that I don't know of this Robert Burns character, but this was a cool video nonetheless! Thank you for sharing, Rose and Lancelot. I hope your Thursday is enchanted!

I don't care to read about history. I'd rather see it for myself, like in this video, showing all the historical places and landmarks that so many people do not get to visit. The architecture is so beautiful, and modern man, with all its technology could not create such beautiful architecture, without everything collapsing when someone sneezes.😒✌👍

I lived in Dumfries 1960-1966 I'm surprised you featured Burns so much and the town so little. Dumfries used to be a thriving market and tourist town (with light industry on the outskirts) but the last time I visited many of the shops were either closed or turned into charity shops. The sandstone buildings are attractive but the town was only a shadow of what it used to be.

Dumfries is beautiful but what ever you do never talk to the police or have a camera, if the thugs police see you with one you will get arrested and put in jail. If you are lucky you might not get hurt by them tyrants, but don't let that put you off it is a historical place as long as you keep well clear of the police.
@billsmart50805 жыл бұрын
Blsss Hastings you haven't look at the news lately, the police are thugs and bullies and that is just to there own in Dumfries.
