Oh goodness! I hope the new Laughing Heart owners replace the very uncomfortable, hard mattress covers. I loved that hostel and will definitely be stopping by next year again. I mean, if you see a hostel from the trail, you must go to it. That should be a thru-hiking rule.

Welcome Back!! Missed your updates! Glad you're feeling better and you have the whole half of September too that things will turn around and look up! Today's my birthday, so I'll share a wish that everything gets better!! :) I've only ever hiked a small section 9 miles last year of the Trail in TN and this year I've had neck surgery and back surgery and may have to have another, so watching all the through hikers and your channel, I've lived vicarously on the trail.. I'll be sad when it's done, but looking forward to finding new hikers to follow next year! I also live about 30 min from the trail in VA so hoping I can start doing some trail magic!

You didn't specifically address your parents' current health conditions. Is your mom out of the woods? And is your dad fully recovered from his surgery?
