This was 2 years ago but only just put it all together. Some years we get loads done and others not so much

From the ramial wood research from Laval University agronomy courses, the ramial chips with variable length are significantly better than the more uniform squarish chip for conducting bacterial action vertically through the layer. The shredders that do it are much faster too so a gas engine hammer mill it is; I love my little MacKissic Mighty Mac hammer mill shredder; it'll grab twigs out of your hands gloves and all, this little monster. Anyway kudos for the video. Educating people, even more market gardeners, about ramial wood will help keep us producing with less fertilizer during globalist-driven hand-to-mouth times. The ramial approach suffers from a serious lack of info at street level IMO. I'm getting shredded Red Alder with leaves from a commercial tree service so I don't have to go out to the bush and shred baby Alder trees into garbage cans myself this year. I've used cedar tips from trimming a large hedge to good effect too; even cedar is ramial wood that rots quickly if it's just green twigs and leaves. Willow has growth factors in it so I love shredding willow too :)

The soils where we have used ramial chips is now full of life. I much prefer the machines that shred but they don’t seem to exist on a small scale here

Hello, Thanks for making a couple of geeat videos. Could you post some information about the willow varieties you use? Any that you particularly like? Or is it all Salix viminalis. I'm curious to know if you have any of the modern super fast growing hybrid willows and what your thoughts are on those. Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi, thought I’d post on here aswell as the email I sent. It’s the fast growing willow we bought as ‘biomass willow’ so is much bigger and faster than vimnalis but is also not as good for weaving as vimnalis so is good to have a mix if you like to weave structures

Hi, Could you post the details of this ELIET chipper or is it a shredder model please?
@thoseplantpeople5303 ай бұрын
We hired it so I don’t have any details I’m afraid. It’s a shredder not a chipper but I don’t have any further details
Thanks, that was an interesting read. I'm trying to establish a growing system here in New Zealand for primarily bananas and peppers using rcw, seeing your video and this article help give me confidence!
