Helpful, as I am experiencing the Dry tickling cough, so irritating, plus going to loo more, though hadn't connected these with the tablets. Not to mention I've also been put on Pregablin, so still adapting to that too. Plus been given Blood thinners, all in one week, though havent taken those yet.

Interesting...I'm taking this medication. What amazes me is that my doctor told me NONE of this. Example: I read that bananas are a good source of potassium. So I think to myself 'Eat more bananas. But then i research and find TOO much potassium isn't good while taking medication. How many people are aware of that? Older people who aren't on the Internet have no way of knowing. The leaflets inside the boxes never say what foods to avoid either...which seems sadly lacking for the patient's knowledge. I've learned it's never a good idea to be passive sitting in front of your doctor. Ask questions...

I quite agree and you sound just like me. Ive been put on 3 major things in one week ie Pregablin, Ramipril & blood thinner! But not happy at all and the more I look up, the worse it gets. In fact I spoke to my doctor today about some if things I'd usually take and all but one, he said was fine, yet thats not what I'm hearing online. Which do I trust. I'm spending all my time worrying now and not sleeping!

last year he suffered kidney atrophy (left kidney). Just at the start if this year he started to have hypertension (mean 146/86). His kidney function is perfect so far. Doctor has now prescribed him remipril (5m). I am worried about the side effects on kidney (as we only have one).

I was took off rampril and put on Sevikar 40mg/10mg/12.5mg (40 mg olmesartan medoxomil, 10 mg amlodipine (as amlodipine besilate) and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide) and Amiloride 5MG When I workout I get dizzy after every set and I like to super set. the nurse told me to stop working out, but surly that cant be the answer

Thank you - I have been taken off amlodopine and put on Ramipril bacause I have led odema swelling and now some chilblains. The odema and chilblains did not stop when I changed about 6 weeks ago could this be caused by the Ramipril?

I would advise you to speak with your family doctor. Your doctor has a better understanding of your medical history. Also, if you are taking other medications that could be leading to the edema, your doctor would be able to let you know. The Ramipril most likely is not causing this.

All Bp meds Cause increased potasium except beta blockers This ramaprill is a longer lasting ACE inhiberatore than most
