This is our daily routine flying 4 Mavic 3Es and 1 Wingtra using Aeropoints and Propeller to process. We run local coordinates with our Machine Control. We only use our Rover to establish a “known coordinate”, then place an aeropoint on it each flight. We never have to break out a rover unless our point is destroyed. We fly anywhere from 2-6 sites a day, so this is huge time saver. Excellent video showing the process and accuracy between the two systems.

I used to be a drone surveyor for a local aggregates company and we used the Propeller's AeroPoints and processing system. I loved it, for the most part (the 3D models could have been a little better, but it wasn't necessary for the tasks). That system has so much more than what was gone over. It was perfect for those quarries out in the middle of nowhere. Though really, really expensive, I cannot recommend this system enough for those needing a robust collection and processing system.

Just an FYI - The Aeropoints will use the Center-Bottom of the Aeropoint as it's location. Since you took a shot using the Emlid at the top of the Aeropoint, that would be a 26mm offset. So your measurements from the Emlid are actually even more accurate!

That explains why when we use the propeller correction network all three of the points were 0.1 feet higher. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks again mate you are very good teacher, can you please tell me if you have to connect your DJi RTK module to your Emilid base station?? Once you have completed the drone set mission and mentioned that you had RTK on in your drone!

I'd be afraid of somebody moving an Aeropoint and maybe moving it a lot, to a place where I couldn't recover it. Imagine a commercial lawn mower running over one of those things 😭

Question, I noticed that you aren’t using the Lora radio. Given that your workflow is all PPK, couldn’t you also check your points with RTK just to compare RTK vs PPK to check your points since propeller is already using PPK.

Rami: I'd put an additional large number sticker on your APs to have easier time identifying them on your photos..

You’ll get the same or better results if you simply placed one of those AeroPoints over that known point 😉

Waste of money. I do however like their browser based data viewing after the flight. I just dont see the point of them when you already have a rover. You are better off going and shooting your own GCPS. Not worth the 13k a year subscription in my opinion.

Agreed! Aeropoints are nice and they work great. But, just get an Emlid RX or RS2, and the Emlid pole (a great portable 1.8meter pole!) and use disposable Aerotas paper targets. Then there is no need to go back and collect the targets. Time is money!
