Flake wrote a book. There he is explaining how difficult it was to find the right Setup to sync the treadmill with the different Songs. He Said, when the treadmill is to fast or to slow, it is absolutely Impossible to play in time 😄

The lead singer, Till Lindenman, is a certified and licenced artificer. He builts all the pyrothech himself, custom-made for each arena they perform in. He and all the other band members are also certified and licensed pyrotechnicians, trained in the safe placement, use and disposal fo all the pyrotech they use. When East Germany still existed, Till was in the selection for the East Germany Olympics Swimming Team, but a serious injury to his right leg prevented him from competing, and he still suffers from a "loose kneecap". That hammering move at the start, the "Till Hammer", started when during one live performance his right kneecap poped out, and he just pounded it back in place without even stopping singing. Other band members found it so cool that they told him to keep the move even if he did not need to put his kneecap back in place. Flake on the keyboard is so full of energy that he cannot stay still, but with the massive amount of flame and explosions in their performances, he just cannot jump around, so he walk, runs, dances and jumps on a treadmill, averaging about 17 miles per performance, and all that still in sync with the rythm AND while really playing his keys, nothing is prerecorded there. Cherry on top ? These men are the same 6 band members that started back in 1994, they all have University degrees and masters, they keep all their certifications and licences current for all the countries they might do a show in, Flake the keyboardist is considered as a philosopher with an hilarious sense of humour, Till has been considered a poet rather than a lyricist due to all the multiple meanings he can inject in his songs and the depth he can add to them, they are all very knowledgable about history, of their own country and the rest of the world. The RAMMSTEIN rabbit hole is more like a deep and wide warren, I've only barely scratched the surface here. That MSG concert was completely sold out less than 30 minutes after the tickets went on sale. Their last worldwide tour was completely sold out, YES ALL THE TICKETS FOR ALL THE PERFORMANCES ALL OVER THE PLANET FOR MORE THAN A YEAR OF TOURING, in less than an hour ... I have a friend that camped in front of her computer waiting for the official release hour, hitting refresh every 15 seconds or so, to secure 3 tickets for her, her husband and their son. Live performance of RAMMSTEIN have been reported as blinding by people working on the International Space Station. YES, if the ISS is anywere near a RAMMSTEIN live outside performance, they can see it FROM SPACE. They are THAT phenomenal live ! And their music videos, when not footage from live performances, are often better than movies in terms of storytelling, dynamics, and history behind the lyrics.

A lot of the Paris stuff is actually added in post. Not even the fire is 100% real. I always see the fake effects and it bugs me. It was more supposed to be an artistic movie to print on Bluray, than an accurate recording of a live show.

Flake, the pianist, used to pace the stage before the band got bigger pyrotechnics! After the performances got bigger, the band decided it wasn't safe, so they gave him a treadmill so he could still walk without getting hurt :)

You missed your chance. Rammstein just did a US tour at 8 NFL sized stadiums, with an enormous stage set-up. They flew 7 Boeing 747 Cargo jets to bring all their equipment. At one point, Flake ride on a Segway on stage but he ran into Till during one performance, injuring him. It was safer for him to use the treadmill after that for everyone especially with the pyro going off. He gets bored so wants to do something whilst playing and can walk up to 17km during a concert. They've upped the York quite a bit since this tour btw.

If i remember right Flake walks something around a 5k or 3~ miles every show and it's estimated Flake has walked about 781.65 Kilometers(close to 500 miles) on his treadmill since 2009.

If you really want to see what they can do with their pyrotechnics and light show on stage to the fullest, then you should watch this song from their show in PARIS from 5 years ago it’s on their official KZbin channel and it’s the Director’s Cut version. Then you can talk about an amazing rock show, because that is what I had to do as I hade only seen a full KISS live concert beforehand and then got the opportunity to be at that particular Paris concert and to see and experience that live is way more worth the money then the money you have to spend to see another rock band, because it’s so worth it in the end

I finally got the chance to see them at soldier field in Chicago late 2022. They were my #1 most show I’d wanted to see for close to a decade. I’ve seen hundreds of bands and artists live, including Metallica, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and hundreds of smaller names. This was the everything you could wish for in there show and I would recommend seeing them to anyone. The top most impressive production and showmanship of any concert I’ve been to. It was a top 3 most memorable concert experience I’ve had👌🏼highly recommended seeing them if you get the chance!

Everyone should experiance at least one Rammstein concert in their lifetime, wether you like the music or not. Till (vocals) is a lisenced pyrotechnician, and it really shows! Flake (keys) is pronounced FLA-KE A as in Arch and E energy. Or KE, as in the spanish word ‘que?’. FLA-KE. Just fyi, I LOVE that keys-movement in that song, and the ending as well. 🤘

The Keyboarders Name is Christian Lorenz. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Lorenz And yes he walks on beat on a treadmill. Bunch of years ago he told in an interview that he feels dumb just standing during the show at his keys, so he got the idea with the treadmill as a cool sidekick element.

Rammstein is considered the best live band in the world these days by far and is the biggest rock/metal show on the road. Rammstein concerts are a lifetime experience you will never forget. But if you still want to see Rammstein and you are American, you might be unlucky to see Rammstein in America again. The stadium tour in America last year could have been the last in America, because of the age of the band members and the huge effort with 5 Boeing 747 and 70 trucks and 400 permanent employees setting up the stage. Setting up the Rammstein stage takes 7 days, so Rammstein has two of these amazing stages to give concerts at shorter intervals.
