This song is very political and a direct answer to some media companies who, around the time this came out, tried painting Rammstein as some right-wing extremist group, partially because some controversial music video that had some nazi propaganda clips in it and because of the style of their music. So Rammstein made this song to tell everyone clearly where they stand on the political spectrum.

the term right wing extremist is such a buzzword nowadays, everything they left doesn't approve is far right, point is this was a nazi accusation against Rammstein, plain and simple, and they ended the whole thing with an epic song and vid. What an excellent reaction of Rammstein being accused being a Nazi band. For full understanding you should watch the live performance of this song - for example from Paris. Presenting Nazi theatrics (especially in live performance) and marching sound with those intelligent double meaning lyrics: They want my heart on the right side (correct side vs. political right vs. being a good guy) but when I look down on me it beats left (left side of the chest vs. political left)

Hello from Germany, I very much like your reactions and your passion for Rammstein. I wanted to thank you for your thoughts and comment a thousand times before but unfortunately I'm most of the time running out of power due to illness. Your reaction on this one is as great as the video and I couldn't agree more. Almost since the beginning of the band they were classified as political right by some left brainwashed people who - as usual - even could not give one hint to that other than just claim it. The only reasons for them obviously were men, white, strong, powerful. It's so sad to see how those people try to destroy everything that doesnt fit in their "perfect" insane world. They even do not recognize that speaking of the mean white old man is as sexist and as racist and as age insulting as hell. With this song Rammstein wanted to make those luniacs think (which is almost impossible) and put things right. Everyone who is not blinded but just listens to them open-minded will see that they are the most honest and tolerant and lovely guys in the world. But to look at the reality isn't really what people are doing these days. If I would tell you the truth about whats going on in Germany you wouldnt believe it and you would start crying. Germany isn't the country that it used to be 10 years ago. Millions and millions of Arabs, Africans, Ukrainians and others came to Germany, its not their bad but its just too much to integrate. If you dare to say something against it you are instantly labeled as a Nazi. People are afraid to speak out. Please continue your great work!

Big problem though with following one leader (ant or human); power corrupts. Politicians and government are from the people. Like George Carlin used to say - They don't fall out of the sky. It's the society we have that creates them and the public that votes for them. We probably need less division between the leaders and the people. The more power and pay we give our politicians, the more power hungry and greedy leaders we get.
