The message in the song is important. In the past, Rammstein was repeatedly portrayed as politically far-right or part of the right-wing scene. They gave the answer to this in the lyrics... “They want my heart in the right place, but if I look down, it beats to the LEFT!”

völlig unwichtiges Wunschdenken aus der totalitären, linken Schreihals Bubble. Ihr linken geht einen richtiggehend auf die Nerven damit. Mit eurer POlitischen Vereinnahmung. @@1984-man Ah ok... dann waren die vielen Aussagen gegen Rechts in den Interviews, das Verbannen rechter Parolen aus Konzerten und die ewig neue klare Positionierung gegen Rechts also nur Show, um zu verbergen, dass man eigentlich Rechts ist? Etwas musikalische Bildung für dich: Links234 ist nicht im Takt der Armee, sondern im Takt eines seit Jahrhunderten bestehenden Musikstils (Marsch) den die Armee gleichermaßen wie die Kirche und die Schreiberlinge von Kinderliedern verwenden. Marsch kommt zudem in einigen der berühmtesten klassischen Werke vor. Das Alles hat mit Rechts mal so rein gar nichts zu tun. Abgesehen davon hat Rammstein bereits unzählige Male bestätigt, dass genau diese Botschaft im Song enthalten ist. Schönen Abend noch.

I Love Rammstein but my go to band now is Lovebites who have just finished their 1st World Tour with 4 gigs in USA(I saw them in London on 1st July, the venue capacity was only 600 and I stood right in front of Fami the new bass player, they were utterly magnificent, humble and interacting with the fans totally unfazed by the close proximity) ..I'm hoping to encourage you to revisit them with this 195bpm head shredder, these Metal Princesses are unworldly, there's no other band like them around today imo🤘> LOVEBITES / Soldier Stands Solitarily [Official Live Video from "Memorial For The Warrior Souls"]

There is a legendary ant horror movie called Them! About giant ants! It's from the 50s. I think it was even banned for being so scary

May is correct in noticing the Antz references. Working alone, an any is powerless against the intruders but working as a collective, they can overcome any for including man it seems!! There's the political message as well as a response to repeated accusations that Rammstein are a far right band. It's repeatedly stated that when they look down, their hearts best on the left. There's also the image of the ants swarming over the right hand of the human corpse at the end.

That hand in the last few seconds of the official video was a right hand. For mosern Germans a raised right hand on an extended arm is a very, very triggering symbol. So a fallen right hand covered in tiny ants is a perfect symbol how many small people can overcome the supposedly powerful if we just work together. The whole song is one of only a small handful of Rammstein songs that leave little open to interpretation. It is also the only Rammstein song that the band members themselves commented on its intended meaning. They wanted to make it absolutely clear that despite the martial mannerisms exhibited in many videos that's ONLY for the show. The band isn't right-wing in any way, shape or form.

There’s even a really old one called It happened at Lakewood manor. There’s also one called Glass Trap I saw once. I guess ants are scary?
