The goose step that Till uses when he enters the scene is called the "Exerzierschritt" and was the practice step of the GDR army. It is enough to see the way in which Till twists his face to think that he makes fun of the military and...especially those of that time. The helmet of "Flake" is undoubtedly a parachutist helmet also used in the army of the GDR... He may have found it in his father's cupboard. On the other hand, I don't know where he found this magnificent and very special accordion! Anyway, this concert debut is simply fantastic and epic!! Rammstein = Great Art !!

Around timestamp 4:36-4:40 when Till is standing there onstage and looks out at the audience...I wonder what went through his mind at that moment? I think he was still working on overcoming his stage fright cause I believe I can see some apprehension and trepidation in his face... I wonder how many times Till has looked out at the audience with disbelieve and questioned why are they there...all these people are really here to see us Rammstein perform? It's crazy and I'm sure all of them have had that I can't believe it feeling....

Reise, Reise is one of their best songs, it has pretty much everything. And it is the exact song that got me hooked to the band 16 yrs ago. I previously knew Rammstein cos of Amerika, Benzin and maybe some other famous single circulating in music TV shows. But then my classmate sent me bunch of Rammstein songs (mostly Reise, Reise and Mutter albums) over Bluetooth and on the way home I gave it a listen. Reise, Reise was the very first song in the playlist and I fell in love with it on the first listen. After I listened to the rest of the songs, I noticed that I had the Reise, Reise song downloaded twice. So I wanted to delete the duplicity, but somehow I clumsily managed to delete both songs, so I was without Reise, Reise just after the first listen :)) I was listening to other songs for the rest of the day and couldn't wait for the next day to get the song again from my classmate :) The rest is history...

At the end of the First World War, the sinking of the German fleet in Scapa Flow took place, while the future of the ships was being negotiated and fearing that the ships would be distributed among the allied powers, Admiral Ludwig von Reuter decided to scuttle the fleet. The situation on the German ships during the internment was "a complete demoralization". Rise Rise is the call to the sailors of the German Navy and to all of Germany to rise again. Great reaction!!!.

Reise also means travel, travelling. In that way, it's in the context of the killed seemen floating in Das Meer😊 so the waves and the sea are crying for them, and finally, they end up on the shore

The last 2 albums are probably more radio friendly where the first two albums became the foundation of Rammstein you could identity who the band was just by the way it sound. Rammstein are amazing they created there own johnerer of music and they are still all the original members after 30yrs together. Apparently they refer the band to be like a marriage which we know has problems but you work them out they even have counsaling sessions as a band which is good too see.👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

It is a song you can take a few meanings out of, at face value you might think fishing, but you can also see some warfare metaphors in there about someone going out to essentially kill an animal for a living and that's perfectly normal , as another man (a soldier) goes out and kills an animal (other men) and that's looked at completely differently . The wording can also be symbolism of another variety. man sticking his "spear" into a woman , the fish, and it says how another man would rather do that to a man. It's always open to interpretation

This is my favourite Rammstein's song. I listen to it almost every day. Till's voice, the guitars the ambiance. It literally takes my breath away almost a metal symphony. Flake only plays the accordion recorded by an artist (don't remember his name) whose had also participated on Moskau and another of their song. Thanks for reviewing btw 😊🤘🏼🇫🇷

I've been a Rammstein fan practically my whole life, I know all the albums and songs... but, what really took my heart was Sopor Aeternus, even though it's not a very well known band.

Reise Reise could mean to arise to wake up/get up and also to travel.. this is about seamen..men at sea or men in the Navy who are out at sea. Rammstein themselves have said they do not give out any of their songs meaning because they believe it's best for each person to find their own meaning their own interpretation to what a song might mean. Till is a poet and he is an expert in taking words and combining them together to have more than one meaning. To me the song is about being a sailor and how some stick the speer in a fish and others in men.. meaning not all sailors/soldiers are there to kill or like killing they would rather speer a Fisch to provide food then to kill a man. Many lives have needlessly been lost at sea that's why the 'waves cry softly'. It also doesn't matter if you kill a man or fish they both sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Hi, professional translator here- there's a debate whether it's "arise arise, sailor arise" (old german) or "travel travel, sailor, travel" (imperative, so a command to travel) or even "journey, journey, sailor journey" etc. I would tend to go with the latter (based on emphasis) but I don't really know either.

„Reise,Reise“ is the wake up call on ships in the German Marine, „Arise,Arise“ is English. So I think the exact translation isn’t that necessary, because the meaning is the important part.

@@alyxbabineaux2412 I hope so too, but Till is a very sensitive guy, more than some would think. I hope he has a very good back up with the rest of the band members. I have two books of his poems, and they are only talking about the sexual orientated once, never these like: "In silent nights, a man is crying, because he can remember (some things I suppose)" at another one it sounds like, he wanted commit suicide. He had already several things to come through and now this, I do not understand, why some have to take so much and others can go through with nearly nothing. In an interview he said, that he was sometimes crying during his training in the swimming team, because it was getting very rough. He was crying, while being in the water, so that they could not see it. Immediately I had to think at the lyrics from "Haifisch". He is telling us often more, then you might guess. His sad eyes, are coming from somewhere.

Somewhere I read an interpretation, whereas the spear stands for the male genital and the fish for the female genital. So some man "thrust" their penis into females, other into males. Therefore, the song is eventually about the fact that some man are homosexual and some or not. Everybody does it in their own way, while being on a lifelong travel. But hey, it's Rammstein. There are tons of different and valid interpretations for their songs.

It's about two things in the song that you can choose from. Either you go with the direct lyrics, then it's about war and a sea battle man against man (spear to man) or you go with the poetry behind the direct lyrics, then it's about love/sex among gay men (spear to man). Once "Spear to Man" sung with two completely different meanings.

It is hardly possible to translate Rammstein lyrics directly. They use many words that have more than one meaning in a cryptic way, so there is a lot of space for interpretations. It's a lot of poetry involved.

This Song is all about sex. Reise Reise is translated falsely, it doesnt mean „arise“. It means „journey, journey“. The sea is a Metapher for all places you can have Sex. And you can do it the way you like. (Spear to man = Gay Sex, spear to Fish = heterosexual sex:-)). So it actually is a hymn for free sexuality.
