As a german, and a Day One Fan of Rammstein, i feel sad, that there are so many exeptional great songs of them never to be mentioned in social media, like: Küss mich Fellfrosch, Donaukinder, Führe Mich, Liebe ist für alle da, or Spieluhr. Those are the most underrated (and the best) songs of them.

My second favorite song by Rammstein. When you deal with the lyrics, the first thought is that many people tyrannize another until one of them kills him. On closer inspection, it's a criticism of the music industry and fans and the pressure to meet their expectations. Artists do everything to stay popular, otherwise they will plummet into insignificance in the business. The price is the sale of one's own soul, the inner suicide, so to speak, to please everyone else. The bridge in the song is the stage. The thousand suns are the spotlights. He just wanted to go to the view - just make his music The one who kicks him in the back is himself. His self, changed by the masses, kicks his original self in the back and kills this part of his personality. The accompanying fan-made video is absolutely sensational. Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJvbg2eLr8-kbtE or kzbin.info/www/bejne/el7MmWaLer55i7s or pure lyric video (english) kzbin.info/www/bejne/opOVXqyEbtljqrM The song is an almost unknown treasure. Lyrics: On a bridge, quite high A man holds his arms open There he stands and still hesitates Right away the people swarm in droves Won't miss out on it either I want to see it up close I get into the first row And scream The man wants to climb from the bridge The people begin to hate They form a dense crowd And don't want to let him down So he climbs back up And the mob begins to hate They want his innards And scream Jump; Redeem me Jump; Don't disappoint me Jump for me; Jump into the light Jump Now the man begins to cry [A cloud moves in secret...] Asking himself what have I done [...In front of the sun , it gets cold] I just wanted to see the view The people break ranks and look into the evening sky And they scream jump Jump; Redeem me Jump; Don't disappoint me Jump for me; Jump into the light Jump A cloud moves in secret in front of the sun, it gets cold But a thousand suns burn just for you I creep onto the bridge in secret And kick him in the back from behind I redeem him from this shame and I scream to him Jump Jump; Redeem yourself Jump; Don't disappoint me Jump for me Jump; Don't disappoint me

Not so sure about that interpretation of the lyrics. In my opinion it`s more about what the people have become. They would rather push someone from a bridge then to actually find out what is wrong. People don`t want to help. Mobbing, abuse, etc. is a normal thing and people mostly look away, instead of helping.
@TomTomson813 жыл бұрын
@@gunvlog You can be unsure. I am not. 😁 At Rammstein, one never excludes the other. Your point of view is by far the best known, because the most obvious. I know this interretation too and join them too. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, I have written another here that is just as correct because it is also well founded. These are interpretations. There are no wrong views. 😉

@@TomTomson81 of course. But taking into consideration, that most lyrics in the Rammstein Songs are pointing to cultural or political issues, I don`t think the lyrics point to fan based pressure. Rammstein are known for their very controversal lyrics.
@TomTomson813 жыл бұрын
@@gunvlog Sorry, but that's not entirely true. There are plenty of songs where this is not the case. "Most" it doesn't mean everyone and who tells you that this song is one of them, just because YOU see it in that way? But even if it were so, Rammstein are also discussing a major problem here. Furthermore, nowhere is it stated that they are attacking their own fanbase. And even if they did, they would be absolutely capable of doing that. And it would be true. Fact is that almost every Rammstein song has doublemeanings and their lyrics are never as easy to understand as they seem at first look. I gave very good reasons for all of the examples I gave above from this song. There's more. That wasn't all. Make the effort, read through every line and look at it without thinking of your interpretation, but of my own. You will find that it all fits as well.

This song gives me goosebumps. Very philosophical, in a dark way. Shows how humanity can be. Some people want to see someone ending their life just for entertainment. Could be reflective on the band and/or singer himself, people pushing them/him to go further than what he/they are comfortable with. I remember there being an actual music video for this song but it is long gone. Makes sense, because the whole dramatic suicide thing.

Rosenrot is a great album in general. There is one song from this album called "Stirb nicht vor mir - Don't die before I do" it's really beautiful and one of my personal all time favorite Rammstein Songs. It's quite unusual and something you would not really expect from Rammstein in the first place but this song is so lovely and calming its unbelievable. Hi from Germany, actually Spring is in my opinion one of the most underrated songs by Rammstein. It´s also not played or rarely played in concerts as far as i know. Anyway the song touches you directly, especially when you think that many people enjoy it so much to see people in such situations without a way out of it. You can observe it every day on situation like accidents and so on. Watching those things turn them on.....sick. But talking to Rammstein, the lyrics are just really great and they express everything in a direct manner. Sorry, my english is not so good to express all my actual feelings to this song. Keep continue your Rammstein reactions as you did , i like them very much.

This feels so true. Everybody is praying and pretends to care and be good but secretly the Lust for sensation and death controls how they really act. That's why people break on the highway to stare at an accident and cause traffic jams which then blocks the ambulance which then comes to late. It's pretty much the same as blocking someone from climbing down the bridge or kick him/her in the back.

Like always with Rammstein, der are different interpretations possible. I think this has more to do with overcome a fear. Till for example had to be talked in to be a vocalist. He was at another Band a drummer, because he could "hide" behind the band and that was fine for him. So in this case he had to push himself to become the vocalist, but it is not only about this. It happens to everybody, that he/she has fears. Scared of hight, scared of spiders... would take too long for all and to come over it the first time is to push yourself over the invisible limit and "do it". The other site is also in this way, that some toxic people like to see others failing. It does not have to be the "actual" pushing from the bridge, but for example, it can happen in companies, where someone finds somebody who he/she is bulling and the others are only watching it. Some, in a way of "getting entertained" and some in a way that they are glad it is not them. Thanks for your reaction and enjoy your weekend. Here in Ireland we have a Bank Holiday on Monday, so a longer weekend than others. ;-)

I can’t find the news article anymore but around the turn of the century this actually happend somewhere in Northern Europe. The only made up part is the fact that someone pushed (Till in this case) the victim. In the real story someone wanted to commit suicide, hesitated and was screamed and shouted to death by the crowd. He finally jumped what the guitar makes very clear towards the end (the plunging sound). I share the opinion this is one of Rammsteins masterpieces.

English is a German language. Many words are the same but with different meaning. In English Spring is either the season when the natures jumpstarts of another sense, water springs, where actually water is jumping out of the earth. As for the song, one of my favorites. It is about the perverted human nature, the cruelty in humans.

"Spring" is the imperative form ("Jump!") of the German verb "springen" (to jump; pronounced SHPRING-EN). The German translation of the English word "spring" would be "Frühling" (for the season; approx. FRUIH-LING) and "Feder" (elastic helical metal coil; FHAY-DHER) respectively.
