The spark boots was one of their oldest serving gimmicks. Till always used them for Weisses Fleisch. They did it for about 6 years. This performance was actually one of the last performances under the "Sehnsucht" tour. So they changed up their outfits and routine for the new "Mutter" tour . That's where you see the birth of "Mohawk Till" to

It was also really hot there, besides the flaming mics in Ashes to Ashes (Australia in the middle of summer). I saw them at the same festival, but in New Zealand, it was awesome! (Was their first time down here) and they gained a lot of new fans, who had no idea who they were prior to this. Which is why I said this would be a good one to do ages ago :)

Asche Zu Asche is awesome. Great toe tapper off their first album. I'd say best performance of it, like many other songs, is from Volkerball. They've always done the burning mic stands to. The burning mic stand amongst the sea of orange smoke is actually the cover of the Asche Zu Asche single.

I remember seeing them in Melbourne, and it was so hot, 35c at night, plus all the pyrotechnics.. big day out easily one of the best concerts - festivals in Australia. Was lucky enough to attend quite a few..

You must understand that every performance in US is limited in effects due to ridiculously hard regulations. It's sad. Australians are a great audience. I like to remember the Oktoberfest in Munich in the 80s when in the Hofbräu tent the Aussies and Kiwis had their shout fights between the songs with "Aussie" and the Kiwis responded with "Kiwi", until they both shouted together. So funny.

you should really check out Rammstein performing Rammstein (Eskimos and Egypt edit) from Bizarre Festival 1997. It starts slow and after the two verses the music speeds up. Tremendous.

'Asche zu Asche' main riff is a sped up version of Am I Evil (Diamond Head / Metallica). Not exactly but pretty close. Great song though. Rammstein never fails to put on a great show and get the crowd going. Plus you get to learn some German as an added bonus.
