The Ramones were such a breath of fresh air in the 70s. Everyone on the radio was singing folksy soft rock or disco. Their wall of noise was such a kick in the pants 😂 still sounds so fresh because of the simplicity

I was 16 in 1977 and we used to read about them in the fanzines. Saw them a couple of times live......they played super-fast and were super loud! RIP Johnny, Joey, DeeDee and Tommy 🙏

Marky Ramone on drums here is still alive (as of April of 2024). He had just replaced Tommy in the first part of 1978 and his first album playing drums was "Road To Ruin", released in the fall of 1978--this song is on that album.

So unique. Punk at their essence but with meaningful lyrics and rhythm. Throwback to surf music and ‘50’s rock and roll. The Ramones were really one of a kind. Love that they wore Ramones t-shirts on stage.
