The canard trailing edge elevator is linked to the tailplane elevator by moving in opposite direction. When you raise the rear elevator the front one moves down relieving the airflow pressure required to lift the nose by the elevator alone. This allows the airplane to perform steep turns easier without requiring as much up elevator as a standard 1892. The wingspan is also increased to 39 feet from 36 with a "Sportman" high cambered leading edge which contributes to slow speed handling. The rubber sleeve on the front oleo strut is there to prevent it from bottoming out on rough surfaces. The rubber boots are there to protect the stabilized from damage on gravel or other rough surfaces. The cabin floor is also beefed up to handles loads higher than the standard 182. There is so much more but I hate typing, you should read up on the Peterson mods, they are quite impressive
