Teostra technique was a set bonus from wearing several pieces of teostra armour (set bonuses aren't really a thing in rise). It meant that any hit that was critical didn't lose sharpness. So you had people getting to a sliver of purple sharpness, maxing out affinity, and just never needing to sharpen. So you can see how guaranteed crits like this would be broken with this skill

I think it's just the Felyne tree that has Hellion Mode, tho it does have some blue sharpness and it's pretty easy to work in the protective polish from a charm or alloy helmet, and the sinister set gloves have 2 handicraft with a 2slot which you can put in an attack gem

The rampage weapons looked mediocre at first and I didn't bother with them, but I've since found an appreciation for the incredible flexibility. For a relatively low cost, I can just swap the element on the weapon to target the monster I'm hunting, for example. Even if the weapons aren't necessarily the most powerful weapon available, the utility is fantastic.

It was called Master's Touch which was on Teostra's armor in World (maybe other things too but Teostra's was the easiest to get). It might be back, if Teostra is added in a future Title Update... I mean, Chameleos often forms a trio with Teo and Kushala, so I think he's expected, but that skill... Who knows?

So here is a question I haven't seen answered or I just missed it. I have the first Ramp up skill, but I want to try out one of the others for that weapon. Will I have to spend tickets each time I change it, or will it permanently unlock once I add the ramp up skill to a weapon?

Rampage weapons rn are just a little below viable for the most part but we get apex rathalos which means another rampage and probably another level for the rampage weapons which would push them into being pretty good. Its pretty save to assume that we will get another level and that means they will be good endgame weapons actually. There is even a space left on the tree so its pretty guaranteed that rathalos will give us the last upgrade for those weapons.

I have to say cotton. Rise far exceeds what iceborne brought to the community. So much more content and customizable play styles. And all the haters that said "it has worse graphics". The only difference is terrain and some monster move sets like rajangs lightning blast. But aside from that it is on par with world and exceeds world by combining the essence of world and gen U with hunter arts plus you dont have to gather 3 times and get hit by a bullfango. How can you complain. Same move set plus more. It's amazing. I have been playing monster hunter since freedom unite sitting at a lunch room table with a PSP killing loa shan lung. And this game has blown everything out of the water with the monsters, the maps and the move sets which are completely up to the player. I honestly feel this is the best monster hunter yet. Love the old school charm RNG lol. Sucks for the carries from world. No defender set for you.

They are always active. They are just called ramp up skills since you need Rampage materials to apply them

Unless Protective Polish is in this game - I don't think I can even consider using Hellion Mode as a DB main on weapons that don't have a ridiculous amount of Sharpness. The normal sharpness rate loss is already among one of the worst of the 14 weapons

@@mhk6943 not for me. I only found myself having to sharpen around 3 times at most for the entire hunt once I got to the endgame. I did have a bit of sharpness boost though, so maybe that's why.

Nah they trade base stats for customisation. They aren't good at everything, but you get to choose what they specialise in.

You can't, but most cutscenes allow you to hold "+" to skip them. Including the ones at the village, such as the Dango eating, buddy departures at the argosy and meowcenaries, and hiring buddies.

I just completed the apex arzuros urgent quest and I can say without a doubt I'm going to hate this game mode. Those apexes ramp up the damage in such a jarring way after walking through monsters in normal quests

@@bohenian ive since played 40+ rampages and I still hate doing it. It's fun with people but they go on too long when all you want is the part from 1 monster at the end of the rampage. Its like imagine you started a magnamalo hunt cuz you need some of his parts but you were walled off from his zone till you hunted 2 other monsters.

Well it's not really a weapon that lends itself to customisation, most longsword variants are different only in stats. More complex weapons are where the ramp up system starts to shine.

Is it just me, or do the rampage weapons kinda trash, or at least the hunting horn and swaxe. They don't out raw the raw weapons, they don't out element the element weapons, they don't out crit the crit weapons, and the song lists take up one of the slots needed to make them even compete. You also have to take the melody 1 songs if you want them because you lose the option when you get melody 2 In other news, I hit 420 raw with 497 Def with hunting horn using attack up, attack 7, blunt 3, fortify x2, and item buffs. 1% crit though and you have to use bead of resonance instead of earthshaker, unless you have a friend with attack up. The bows and bow guns may have some cool shit going on with 5/6 slots
