@@conord5043 Yeah I’ll give him that but if it was a 30 foot drop then yeah but the 75ft Canyon gap no room for error the consequences you come up short on that you are dead end of the caveman you can probably get away with it give Brendan his dues for doing rampage on a singlecrown I think over the years that will become the norm because Enduro bikes nowadays are just that good but there is nothing like hitting a 60ft + gap on a DH bike I think without rampage And downhill racing you don’t really need a DH bike

@@ashleytombs Bro, what the hell are you even talking about? 😂 Of course Bender is not able to do a flip over a canyon. I don’t see why he should be able to do them in the first place. Bender was mainly known for his insane hucks. I even doubt that he is able to do a flip at all. So now to the consequences. You can’t compare the risk of these two. Of course you can come up short on the canyon flip, or over shoot it, but you still land somewhat „safe“. Whereas dropping into the chute with a caveman is made for things going wrong. Of course pilgrim can do them, but in this situation you can‘t slip a pedal. If you miss your handlebar/pedal you are done. Basically freefall all the way to the bottom. For me the most impressive trick & technical trick was reeds backflip drop. This thing was huge and he had almost no lip to initiate the rotation

someone please explain to me, the second Run was canceled because of the wind? Shouldn't we wait any longer for the wind to calm down? the second Run is always crucial, the riders give 100% because it's the last chance, the millions of spectators all over the world and the riders wait a year. in 2009 during a MotoGP race in Qatar, the race was postponed to the next day due to heavy rain, we are talking about MotoGP with its mega logistics.
@fergusward47142 жыл бұрын
I think the wind tends to be more gentle in the morning than the afternoon out there so when they were waiting for their second runs they were waiting for a lull in the wind rather for it to generally die down. I’m just glad that the event was moved forward by an hour so they all got to attempt one run before it got too bad.
@JoseOjedaMTB2 жыл бұрын
As much as the event sucked (relative to our Rampage expectations), if the riders knew it was going to be windy, they should have gone all in on their first run, just in case the second run was cancelled because of it.

Unpopular opinion...... This Ramage was less then stellar. Builds felt rushed and the whole bottom of the venue, leading to the coral, felt unfinished.... Which is strange for a venue that is well used. On that note.... Time to find something different for Rampage... The same Utah bluffs are getting tired, move on to somewhere else.... Time for new judges, some of them have been judging for the entirety of the event.... New perspectives are needed... They clearly favor ridge lines, which are basically a flow trail, as opposed to actual mountain riding.... Also this one, I'm gonna get flamed for... Godziek's run was quite boring.... The canyon gap has been done to death... Scoring point on nostalgia isn't progression... Plenty of other runs, that where far superior IMO..... Basically... Time for Rampage as a whole, to restructure if it's to stay relevant, in today's MTB.... Keeping in mind this opinion is coming from a diehard Rampage fan, since the first one.... Rama0ge sucked this year....

@@scotttiner4981 lame for Rampage, yes. Lame objectively, obviously not. Ditch the judging. Altogether. Maybe do a riders favorite, where competitors pick the winner, like a mini NORA cup thing. The drops and gaps are cool, but in general, it looks like it is getting too manicured with perfectly sculptured ramps and runouts..runout... kind of losing its gnar factor. This year is less gnar on purpose so less people would get hospitalized. Only Kyle strait this year, whereas last year to get top 10 you just had to make it down the mountain.
