Jacob Sirak not really. He’s says that about wrestling. Bjj=ground game, kickboxing=stand up, wrestling=controls where the fight takes place
@willborman13454 жыл бұрын
Jacob Sirak no this video is about BJJ and how joe blows dudes who specialize in it. Joes statement counters this point and says how wrestling is actually more important. Ex: if you’re going against a bjj specialist but good at wrestling then you get to choose to box because they can’t take you down
@willborman13454 жыл бұрын
Jacob Sirak yeah idk what to say bud you are wrong about this haha. Grapplers can’t control the fight. This video is about bjj. Joe is talking about wrestlers ability to control the fight NOT bjj. I know you aren’t trying to counter his point but you are because you don’t even understand what joe meant. Rampage even talks about how he is a wrestler in the video lmao. This video=all about bjj. Ability to control the fight=all about wrestling. Bjj and wrestling are not the same thing. Joes statement about wrestlers being able to control the fight has nothing to do with this video
@willborman13454 жыл бұрын
Jacob Sirak your original statement is completely misguided. “Joe Rogan thinks ground game is the most important because it dictates where the fight takes place” this video is about rampage thinking joe is biased for Bjj guys and that statement is about wrestlers
@monkeystank52413 жыл бұрын
Rampage will always be my favorite. He was old school who met new school. But his interviews were second to none. So funny! Remember when Rampage won a big fight, and during the interview, they asked where he would be in 2 years? His response was quick. He said, "I'm 23 now, and in 2 years I will be 25". I lost it! The new school MMA fighters went to school during early UFC and Pride. They learned to succeed in mma, they needed to learn bjj and muay Tai. This became the new school. But I miss when styles verses styles dictated fights. It was the individual slightly more than the style. Remember Sabaroba [sic] and Cro Cop.

Rampage was being nice saying Rogan could possibly tap him in a BJJ tie up. Rampage would destroy him in every way.
@seankim201111 жыл бұрын
I loved seeing this intellectual side of Rampage. What I loved more, though, was hearing him, a top-level MMA fighter, say that Joe Rogan would easily lose to him in an MMA fight. Joe Rogan seems to think that he knows everything about MMA, and one of the best in the world just said that he could barely last in an MMA fight.
@SCROGY11 жыл бұрын
That's a logical fallacy. Could Angelo Dundee last in a fight with Muhammad Ali? No, but he coached Ali. Could Eddie Futch beat Frazier? Could ANY fighter's coach beat the fighter they coach? Few if ANY. Joe is expected to know a LOT because he's a commentator. It would be silly to have a guy doing commentary that was ignorant of the sport wouldn't it?
@seankim201111 жыл бұрын
What's a fallacy is Joe Rogan not giving any opinion he has about traditional martial arts any real support. All he ever does is trash talk and make it clear that he's just bummed he couldn't be successful in more than one arena. He got beat up by American kickboxers simply because he couldn't adapt his Tae Kwon Do skills to their game, so he bad-mouths Tae Kwon Do to cover it up. What Rampage makes clear is that all Joe does is bad-mouth other people to cover up his own shortcomings. He also doesn't know much at all if he says traditional arts have nothing to offer. Could someone who only knows MMA skills defend themselves against a knife, or multiple attackers?
@seankim201111 жыл бұрын
MrSpoonydave No, why?
@SCROGY11 жыл бұрын
MrSpoonydave How has Rogan gotten beat up? He was a high level TKD guy and has given a legit breakdown of why TKD is weak (lack of good hands), he is also a BJJ black belt. The lack of support comes from few traditional MA-ists being effective in MMA. Machida is an exception, but he has had to adapt Shotokan to MMA for it to work. He (Rogan) does say the occasional thing that I don't agree with but what commentator doesn't? At least Rogan has fought at a high level. Goldberg DOES suck, I'll agree with that. He has no insight at all.
@seankim201111 жыл бұрын
SCROGY Joe said himself that he got beaten up by kickboxers when he fought them using competition TKD. What he doesn't understand is that if competitive TKD had greater contact, people would die often, simply because of the effectiveness of the art. Several people have died when hit by TKD kicks just under their chest pads in competition. The only reason someone would be ineffective out of their element is their failure to adapt, and rank and fighting experience cannot overcome superior strategy and technique, which MMA has yet to develop on its own. Can you cite anything that isn't circumstantial, or is that all you have?

Joe Rogan is a comedian. I agree with Rampage commentators need to respect fighters. I feel before you become a commentator you should be a professional MMA fighter not just someone who practice MMA.
@TheBigChad10 жыл бұрын
I agree with u to a point, but Joe does have a wealth of knowledge about the sport. If he could learn how to be unbiased towards fighters then me as well as the general community would like him a lot better. He should commentate on the sport and the action in the octagon but don't criticize the fighters when he hasn't been in any fights professionally. It's a different world when ur actually fighting, ur not gonna have the perfect technique and ur gonna make mistakes.

He started judo at the age of 20 and after a year of training received blue belt. In 1996, Rogan began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlson Gracie at his school in Hollywood, California. BJJ is nothing special, many bjj specialist got beat by wrestlers and judo fighters. Ground or stand up does not matter over emphasizing is the problem. It is like that muscular guy at the gym with a great upper body and no legs.

Yeah. Its called mma for a reason. You mix it up. Saying that kiwis suck is one thing but others will say otherwise but you mix it up into fruit juice along wih oher fruits it contributes to the taste much like mma should be.

Wanderlei is Joe's favorite fighter because he stands and bangs with people... I don't see how he favors grapplers. Sure he spends more time explaining what's going on while on the ground, but that's only because most casuals don't know what grappling is tbh.

Ariel Harwani....I gotta say he has really grinded out a position in MMA by attrition, but he is huge nerd.
