I was a WWE fan like many as a kid. But what got me into MMA was TUF Evans vs Jackson . I remeber it came on Spike TV right after raw. The older i got the more MMA and much less WWE

I tecnically started because of Chuck Liddell, but at that point I only watched clips of Chuck knocking people out, so I bought a dvd with Chuck and he was fighting Rampage in UFC and I rooted for Chuck as I knew who Chuck was, but then Rampage won and I became a fan of Rampage which meant I had two fighters I was a huge fan of instead of just one, and by then it just kept going like that and I went back to 1993, watched every single UFC event and Pride FC event and I have been in love with MMA ever since.

I randomly met rampage at a Target store in Irvine, CA. I was in the self checkout line and I turn around and rampage was right there. The legend of Pride, I couldn't believe my eyes! I was super stoked but tried to hold back the fan boy in me, lol. All I said was "Rampage!? I'm a huge fan!" He nodded, said thanks, gave me a fist bump and went on his way. It was a brief but memorable encounter.

When Rampage was on top, MMA was over as hell. I was a hugeeeeee bandwagon fan at the time and i was into that shit hard. Circa UFC 100, when the first game they put out on 360/PS3. Like. MMA was sooo freaking popular at that time it was beyond hot as hell. I remember all of my boys and I would circulate whose house was hosting the fight night ppv that month. Like 20+ grown men doing copious amounts of drugs watching MMA until 2 in the morning with at least 2 of your dumbass friends bound to start "shoot fighting" on the front lawn. That or the one smartfan friend who would beg everyone in the room to try the new judo hold he learned that week on someone. Lol. Just a different time...did i mention Spike TV or 1000 Ways to Die?

MMA always tells us how real it is, but if they like to sell their fights, or get people interested they just copy&paste what you see in wrestling. Like in this interview that he thinks a certain guy is funny, and then says he wants to knock him out, That's kayfabe! As a pro and an adult you wouldn't say such stuff. Or if it gets to the weighing when they are at each others thorat. That's like those "contract signings" in wrestling. I don't buy it for 1 second that this is real. Again, we talking about adult pros in their sport!! As in wrestling we had the time they started to admit about what was sripted, what way kayfabe, and we will get the same with MMA.
