Sometimes you got into a cooler earlier, but you came out 5 grand ahead. You at least got into a good level of cash rather than bust on the bubble, so sometimes poker is a Harsh Mistress, or as Rod Serling admitted a similar thing “You’re the Slave to a Bitch Goddess” (I don’t know if that’s the exact context). Sometimes for each tourney win or major cash, there is a lot of heartbreaking moments, so take a deep breath, talk to your girlfriend, and help get back on track. Bigger paydays with titles await you, Ethan.

@20:09 We feel your pain,... but I must say the beginning of your "outro" here over the first 10 seconds is one of your most introspective and thoughtfully reflective of any I have witnessed previously by you. Your facial expressions tugged at our heartstrings, and no one can fault your call there, as you were ahead when your chips went in. Sometimes you suckout, and sometimes the Poker gods crap on you as the "suck-ee". In the end, you kept your cool (no 4-letter "bombs",...."yet", though a few later! 🙂), and we'll get to watch you soon heading off to LA to the Hustler stream. Good luck to you there...

I think the pocket tens hand is one you'll want to think about some more. Not because you double barreled, but because you said that you were greedy and going for thin value...but what kinds of hands could you possibly get value from there? Perhaps only KJ with a single club, or maybe JT with a single club (though your hand blocks JT). So it's more likely you're turning your hand into a bluff in that spot, trying to get a Q to fold--which the turn makes very difficult.

The last hand 5,3D I’m my opinion I would jam on the turn just because if I already have a flush and it’s a low one. Puts pressure on my opponent to fold any drawing 1 liner to higher flush.

The bluff shove early on was so good. its the one thing I need to work on, having the balls to shove with air for my tourney life. Also the check raise w 5 high is also an amazing play, even tho you shouldn't have played it in the first place, esp from the small blind. Play 87s or 76s instead, 54s has really bad reverse implied odds.

There’s nothing to say, you played your hands correctly and in the end it’s a bad shove from your opponent that turns out well for him. It’s aLso a logic play when two limpers call that they show weakness so you can shove any two. You played that very good. It’s a phenomenon these days in poker that you raise with crap and limp with premiums.

While I do agree with the ideology behind doing what you did on that last hand(+ev play), I do think it was still too soon to commit or show strenght, while the hand was going on and the turn hits instantly I thought this is the type of hand that would rather continue and see a river prior to committing given prior aggression I think villain may have high diamond holdings and depending on the river is whether I fold or go all in (all depending on whether or not the 4th diamond appears on the river)

Tournament I think u hv to play safer n go in at a super hand. The last hand u could hv come face w another stronger flush. Anyway it was really unfortunate how things turn out. At the stage won’t it better to try to survive n try not to go all in completely. It seems difficult to make it to final table if u r playing Russian roulette a lot of the time. U do see safe player making it to the final. Also remember u hv a reputation for aggression n bluff n opponent may be more aggressive or non believer n might allow u to play into their hand. How about playing reserved-ly intermix with your normal play to get players off guard?

Oh man, that knock out gives me PTSD; I feel you and here's a story that I have to share: Playing 1/2 NL, I had AA UTG and limped to a 100% VpIp that has bumped from 15-30 everyhabd; he jumps to 25; 4 callers and I pump to 125 - 1 caller, and 1 all-in. Flop, Kxx 2 hearts. I bet 150 and he calls. Turn blank and I jam for 600 effective (which is basically pot at this point) - he calls w Kx hearts. Rivers a flush. For fuck sakes. Seeing people get it in good to lose on a flush brings this hand back from the memory bank.
