Most social workers from abroad (yes there's many) are fast tracked dei employments ......my ex used to moan all the time whilst at uni doing her social work degree ..... Africans given an easy time where top marks were given out for not even handing in work

In the 70's I had bruises, a black eye..social services were sent by my Nanna , guess what? Nothing was done. The bruises and the fact I was as thin as a person in Belson concentration camp, did not get me protection. She carried on. Kicking, hitting, so much more violence.😢

I remember questions about my own black eye, a teacher commenting as one mark heals another one is new. But I know also I wouldn't have dared say what was happening at home. Just look at what happened in Leeds on the rare occasion that they did try to do their job properly. RIOTS the whole community came out burning vehicles and the police backed off . The children were quickly returned. I am in no way defending social services just stating a fact.

From 20 years experience as a designated safeguarding lead in education, you really have to fact find, share concerns, tell social services to document if no action taken by them (to cover your own professionalism to record concerns). Multi-agency chaired meetingsae key! Need a worldwide documented database system in place. Safeguarding Children and young people is "Everyones business". 🤷‍♀️

Current practice is to support cultural differences so they did not act for fear of being labelled Muslim phobic. Protection of the child was left with the parents whose culture justifies this abuse. Wow Allah is obviously so great and with Muhammad the perfect role model for a father.

Social workers have on average 30 cases or more .thats 30 core meetings and 30 family conferances .plus home visits plus the repots to write out that have to be accurate. I know one wjo very often does not return home until 6 or 7 pm most days and does not work from home.they are underfunded . Understaffed .thier hands are tied by red tape .so yes there are some bad social workers but there are many who go that extra mile because they actually went into it to make a differance and help people.unfortunatly burnout and dissalution with the g.o.v. means a lot of even the good ones leave after 5 or 6 years .

I never understood the shower thing in high school when I was growing up back in the 1980’s I was always terrified about the freezing water and the sadistic p.e teachers we imagined that it was out of safeguarding but the irony of it is that it has been stopped by the woke and the cult of hurt feelings because of some made up reasons about breaching children’s rights but the pupils enmasse didn’t ask for the showers to be abolished in schools but some guardian reader who probably can’t even get in a shower unaided
