LOL WOW - talk about memories. I used to do my dustin' and vaccuming to this and dance around the house. lol Thanks for a great post!!!

@VancouverTVGuy7 жыл бұрын
I remember hearing another Ramsey Lewis version of this song a few times on the radio a few years back, featuring just the Trio - Lewis on piano and his backing players on bass and drums with no other instruments backing them up, and that version was played in a slightly more uptempo mode. I'd been trying to find that version of that song for some time (including on KZbin), but had no luck until I finally found and downloaded it on iTunes from The Essential Ramsey Lewis - The Columbia Years recently.
@rememberourmusic538 жыл бұрын
How wonderful of you to feature Ramsey Lewis. Today, May 27th 2016, is his 81st birthday! Please check out my youtube channel honoring Ramsey Lewis and other great African-American artists like Robert Johnson, “King of the Delta blues singers”; Ernest Hogan, “Father of ragtime”; James Brown, “Godfather of soul” and Patti LaBelle, "Godmother of Soul" - all born in the month of May.

The apocryphal explanation for the term 'northern soul' you hear around is... The term 'northern soul' was coined in a record shop in London to describe the somewhat more up tempo style of music requested by travelling northern football fans which was popular in the northern club scene of the time in Wigan, Blackpool etc .... at a time when the more mellow west coast soul sound was become popular in the south of England...
