The videos recently have been a lil different and the reason for that is that I thought it'd be worth experimenting with these shorter formatted videos to see how they perform on this channel. Considering I have a few busy months ahead, I also figured these would be time efficient too whilst keeping consistency on the channel. This isn't me moving away from the Higher Quality videos, as those passion projects are genuinely fun to make and also keep my creative sparks stoked. One thing that annoys me with halo reach going offline is that you cannot use your customized spartan unless your console is in offline mode from what I've tested.

Technically, its illegal to not let a customer own a product, look at what nintendo did with the Wii, the servers are shut down, but you can still download games if you brought them on the wii store. Now I love my physical games, I collect alot of older consoles, og xbox, ps2, ps3, gamecube. But I honestly believe, people should have the right to own their games, even when steam is shut down, even then, steam won't be shutting down in my life time, lmao.

Especially with recent layoffs happening at so many big companies, not excluding Microsoft, its like everyone is cutting on losses to be able to deliver the quality that it is... today and work very slowly on making backward compatible games, making them as accessible as new titles. They really should repurpose their gears on balancing such just to keep the playerbase stable on all platforms.

digital ownership is definitely a double-edged sword. I've been a PC gamer for life, but wasn't around during the physical game era. Got my Steam account in 2014, and by that time CD-ROMs for PCs were quite dead. I currently own 404 games on Steam. If they were all discs, that'd take up a ton of space and be annoying to deal with when I wanted to quickly swap games. but at the same time, it can just be removed for no reason and i can't do anything about it. And while that won't happen for basically any of the games i own, it's still a looming specter that might become real in a decade or two just cuz of expired licensing or corporate buyouts or what have you.

as a age of empires fan not being able to play a lan party on aoe 3 since microsoft lost the license to some server stuff that game released on steam in 2009, yes i have the remaster but most of my irl friends have the original, if you have games from 2014 and so on its only gonna take a few years to catch up yes some games will stay for longer than others but most digital games have a timer, it is worrying to say the least i have a good amount of digital games and knowing that some of them will dissapear in a few years and be lost to time yes theres emulation but thats not gonna save all the games that disappear be it popular or not, lets hope our favourite digital games wheather its sony, xbox, nintendo, or pc that they dont go hollow

I do wish I had cds for some of my steam games, specificly the ones that I would only play once and while, but I doubt I would be able to get those on disks.

You don't have to have a disc in a PC to play a PC game. It isn't like a console. You just do a full install. The only games that require the disc every time are either quite old (~80s-90s) before full installs were practical, or have DRM (Which can be removed.) I play hundreds of physical PC games and maybe 2 or 3 require the disc to play. There really is no merit to digital distribution except convenience.

Thats the problem with live service games .. theres no preservation of them since they're always online and moving forward ... 20 years from now you wont be able to play your favorite games cause they will have their server shutdown.. live service is shit for the long term..

i dont think steam is gonna shut down really. its been the leader in PC games for over 20 years. its like youtube shutting down. also, even a physical copy of a game wont save you on xbox one. ive had to RE BUY minecraft THREE TIMES because my xbox just decides "yeah, we've looked at your account stuff and we've decided that you dont own this game anymore!!! go and buy the game again you idiot"

Even physical discs don't mean anything since a lot of them are just glorified license keys to download and install the actual game. Only way to have true ownership is to acquire digital back ups, however you decide to do that ☠️☠️☠️.

I think when one buys a game, they should have an option to have it be delivered in the mail instead of it being delivered online. Of course it would probably be most expensive to purchase a game that way, but if one really wanted a physical copy of say _"Another Brick in The Mall"_ then they are most likely going to spend that extra money.

Have it plus the DLC except the last one (Likely won't get, I can just play Symphony of the Night) Rogue-Lites have their fun, but I'm just not that good at them and grinding for 50 hours for that first win gets tedious, when a win is the starting line. Took me about that long to get past heat two in Hades, and I still haven't had a single clear in Dead Cells.
