I mean, the idea of Backrooms is just that, "walking". I don't think it can really be turned into an interesting game that isn't just a weird puzzle/fetch quest game. It can be turned into a walking simulator experience, but in those "fun" comes from experiencing the atmosphere. The Complex captures that concept the best and it stays true to the original backrooms

i definitely feel like there should be *something* there, just to keep the terror, but not necessarily a monster and not the one like kane pixels. itd be fitting if you couldnt see it or didnt know what it was and just instead lve in constant fear of it

im a game developer myself (for the past 4 years) and i can tell you, making literally any game is already hard enough, these games did well on being able to create atmosphere. im not mad its just... small bad games are HUGE accomplishments for some people

It's too bad you didn't mention the weirdo stuff with backrooms 1998 where they decided to base the game off of the actual kidnapping and murder of a child, down to ripping specific details of the crime as ~deepest lore~ for their jumpscare game

the complex is one of the best backrooms games, the entities, if there is any are rather things to make u insane by making u feel something is there, my personal verison is exactly like this (the backrooms trying to mimic our world) but with the wiki's entities but better made (partygoers partypoopers) and keeping them rare nand unknown, honestly i plan to make a build ur own backrooms in rec room and im going to do it like the complex's style.

Hey, I recommend you to play "The True Backrooms". It's another Roblox game but... this one made me lose my sanity (in a good way). There are only a few levels in which you are chased by monsters, but this aside, you're completly alone. And the mix of ambiance/soundtrack is making this feeling so well. Also, I think this game is about a human's psyche ? I dunno. This game has also 4 alternatives endings that are so hard to find and the way hard to endure (mentally, with the way the levels are made to discomfort you). Try not to search guide videos, because the game has got an overhaul and most of the solucions video are outdated. Have a nice day, I'm gonna try this hallway today... It rains, it always rains... Is there anyone here to help me ? Anybody at all ?...
